Burns ain't no winning no world title at Lightweight anytime soon, if I were him i'd stay down at Super-Feather, I wouldn't really give much of a shot against any of the big boys down at lightweight (Katsidis, Rios, Antillion, Vazquez, Guererro, Marquez)

He won't win a world title but he might win a WBO title. Kevin Mitchell is no big boy.

Number 1 to those who it suits. Unless beating Nicky Cook makes you number 1?

I thought you might have finally seen sense with your last post. Seems not.

nah, beating the no1 in the division is what Im talking about. People in here tend to forget that when discussing Burns, always concentrating on the negative to suit their own little agendas.

Slag off Burns defences all you want haters, thats for another argument, but DONT make out hes a Cleverly, cos Burns won it the HARD way. He beat the best man out there in his weight division, & thats that really:deal

  7. Martinez was a nobody when Burns faced him and still is a nobody. He was no more #1 than the next guy that beats Nicky Cook. Oh but he was a beast, he rolled over the great Nicky Cook, because that had never happened before against a featherfist.

You can say it as many times as you want. Doesn't change the fact it isn't true. And pointing that out doesn't make me a 'hater'. I've been clear with my support of Burns on here. I think he would beat Broner (at least on a correct scorecard, anyway).

If he doesn't fight broner he can't call himself a real world champion and his 'reign' will have been a joke

Aye, cos Martinez had fought no **** before he beat the incredible Cookie:nut

At the end of the day, Burns beat the the no1 in the division. No matter how much you all dispute it, facts are facts. Martinez was the man, & Burns beat the man.

Dont let the facts get in the way of some good old fashioned jock bashing though:lol:

  11. The jocks need some bashing when they're this monumentally stupid. A bashing might knock you back into the real world. I don't think its Burns' himself who needs bashing, he just beats the stiffs put in front of him, of which Martinez was a very notable and overrated one on here. And yes he basically had beat nobody of any relevance before he beat 'Cookie', which somehow managed to catapult him to #1 instantly in the minds of Jocks. I wonder why? Perhaps it was because he beat another great WBO warrior Alex Arthur, I mean that must instantly make him great and then that greatness is transferred to Martinez like a passing of the crown. Am I thinking along the right lines now?

Awful choice if he pulls out. He will never get the chance to fight on HBO again.
No posts from Billy on this thread yet. :think

Go on then Dunky, tell me what Martinez did to warrant him being your #1 in the division?

I've been waiting for this :yep

  15. Cook > Alex Arthur

    Martinez > Cook

Simple really isn't it? If you beat the man that beat a Scot you can't be anything other than outstanding and the #1. Forget Fana and Uchiyama, all that matters is that you beat the man that beat Alex Arthur. This makes sense because Alex was such a dominating champion, beat all comers for his belt that was not at all handed to him on a golden platter.
