Veteran tactic. It's dirty, but if the ref doesn't catch you or warn you, then what's the point in stop doing it. He mostly use it to keep his opponents off of him because a lot of time, he would've clashed heads and had accidental headbutts with them if he had not stuck his elbows out. Other athletes uses dirty tactics all the time, especially in the NBA. Some are great at getting away with it, and some aren't.

Floyd is a big time fighter. People would be very angry if there were continuous pauses in a fight because of the ref complaining. Part of the ref's job is to make sure we get a good and clean fight.

I think he was warned 2-3 times in the Mosley fight for the elbow

 

Interesting stats...most of manny's defensive stats with jmm impact those numbers. If you add up the numbers for the last 7 fights and compare the numbers are almost identical for defensive stats.

I've been saying that for a long time. When Mayweather is ready, Pac isn't, and vice versa.
