It was the smart business decision to put the kibosh on that statement, imagine if he choose to fight Bradley or Khan, after Ortiz, the public would have grilled him for it like none other, when the truth is Manny still hasn't agreed to Random USDA testing all the way up to the fight, if he held true to his statement he would have to play the waiting game with Manny, when he can make 40 mil fighting any C Class fighter. It's a shame he accused putting words in his mouth though, he must obviously high off being back in the spot light, if he doesn't recall saying that with the biggest smile on his face.

Clearly he's saying that he never said that Ortiz was a warm up/precursor, and he doesn't want to be quoted as such, the response had little to do with the Manny part and was clearly directed at the Ortiz as a precursor aspect of the question. Some of ya'll need medication...lol, seriously.
