Whether you're a lover or a hater, that guy got to the top with the least hastle, became champion and made a ton of money. In such a tough business he has been a success. However, he will down as a good but not great fighter. He promised a lot and delivered little. A big disappointment from a boxing fans perspective but why should he care? He achieved what he wanted.....make loads of money without getting punished, even against big Wlad, he came out smelling of roses.....
Compare him to the thousands of other active fighters and he has a great career. Maybe he should have stayed at cruiserweight but he did have the physical attributes to get to the very top. Perhaps the problem was he did it too fast and should have had at least ten more fights before stepping into the ring with the heavyweight champ. For his own sake he should consider dropping back to cruiserweight but I know moving down can be difficult. If he only wanted to cash out he can still make good money by fighting Vitali. He actually impressed me against Wlad. His speed and reflexes are world class. He just didn't have the skills in the end
'Charlatan' comes to mind. He mind-****ed his own fans into paying him good PPV dollars, then retires on the spot after a disgraceful attempt at winning the HW belt. All those guys who were raving how smart a businessman Haye was now slowly realize it was them who were ripped off.
He should be remembered as someone who was a top cruiserweight, acheived this status in a short space of time and then had a minor acheivement at HW by winning the WBA from not very good champion then acheived nothing else at HW Anyone who still bangs on about him hyping fights and talking sh*t really needs other stuff to fill their lives The thing that makes me laugh is the haters make far more posts about fighters they dislike and think about them far more than the most ardent fan does !!
Haye in 1st fighter to underperform in PPV event SHOCKER !!! Did I think Haye would beat Vlad ? NO Did I buy the fight ? YES Did I get over it almost instantly ? YES
I think he did bring excitement in heavyweight scene. Don’t mind going to watch Klitchko vs. Haye either. It was great event and I was very exited his changes to stop Wlad. Didn’t happen and match doesn’t have best replay value, but it was exiting when it happened. Now if only he wouldn’t have this idiotic “I retire in my prime” mindset
haha no not met him What Im trying to say is a lot of stuff on here is in people imaginations . ' *****'s ' believe there are more ' *******s ' posting sh*t than there actually is in reality ' *******s ' believe there are more ' *****s ' posting sh*t than there actually is in reality As most threads are started by haters saying stuff like " wait for all the *******s to post their excuses this time " " or what will be the *****s excuses this time for Floyd not fightin blah blah blah" before anyone has even posted an excuse for their favourite fighter lol
Great undisputed cruiserweight champ, underachiever at HW. unfortunately had a couple of 'boring' fights at HW which the majority of ignorant boxing fans will remember him for, disregarding all other fights which came before and after.
Sorry, you are just regurgitating **** you heard other people say. Just cause other dumb people say it, doesn't make it true. He had two (2) title fights at cruiserweight. That's it. Two. Some ****ing amazing legacy that is. :rofl This whole **** bleated by ******** fans of his about being some ATG cruiser? Wishful thinking. You can buy into that delusion if you want, but you will just look stupid when someone points out the facts.
A decent unified cruiserweight champion with good speed and great KO power. A heavyweight title holder that failed to live up to expectations, will go down in history amongst the worst title holders despite not being as technically bad as others
