Nearly 17 years ago now, Roy WAS Superman. Compared to his peers, the light that burned twice as brightly burned half as long.

That fight is prime example of why Roy gets KO'd so easily now. Completely unorthodox and totally dependent on his reflexes and speed. He did what he wanted and got away with it.

Extraordinary . The man was just inhuman at times . Theres not 1 fighter (Past or Present) i would bet against Roy in his prime . Not 1 . from 160 to 190 Prime RJ beats them all .

a bit of a fraud... that's the first thing that comes to my mind when i think of jones. i'll never forgive him for avoiding calzaghe when they were both prime. i was convinced that calzaghe was the man to beat him. jones never gave him the opportunity to prove how great he was. fighters know how good other fighters are.. that's why both hopkins and jones avoided calzaghe when they were all prime.

the other unforgivable thing when it comes to jones is DM. that was a fight that had to happen but jones denied all boxing fans. DM was desperate to get in the ring with jones but jones made his excuses as usual.

his two biggest rivals were avoided. so when people call jones "super man" i call that bull****. because super man never avoided anyone. jones did...twice.

Yeah compared to B-Hop specifically he didn't have great longevity, but Jones was still practically unbeatable from 1993 to 2003 at the highest level. A ten-year period of dominance is not a fighter with poor longevity, it's comparable to fellow modern ATGs like Hearns, Whitaker, etc.

Things you don't see normal fighters do, like quadruple left hook combos and throwing a knockout punch with his hands behind his back imitating a chicken.

what comes to mind is his big handspeed and how he started to have his chin exposed once he got hit a little bit. He had the skills to be a great fighter, but his heart for the sport and being a warrior is what limits him in the p4p all time list.
