Could you argue that Roy Jones was the greatest athlete of all time?

USBL as far as I remember, not the CBA. CBA had slightly better players.

I could only find a page that said he signed with the Florida Beachdogs as a conditioning coach, but they had intentions of playing him. Not sure if thats who he played for though, but it was CBA. And wasn't the rumour that he played in a game and then had a match?

As a boxer, quite possibly the most athletic. Too hard to compare to other sports. I wouldn't call Federer a great athlete btw, he's a very skilled tennis player who is just a good athlete.

Well it's hard to compare athleticism across sports. Didn't they do some athletic competition among athletes from different sports with Frazier? Except Frazier wasn't much of an athlete

Not by a long shot. There are elite athletes in many sports that would run rings around RJJ. He could never do what Lance Armstrong accomplished and MJ would send him to his grave on that B Ball court.Like the gent said, Federer is a monster man in that tennis. Beckman, Pele, I wont even mention football or rodeo. There is so many great athletes and I dont see where one stands out above the rest. Speaking of athletes, I heard that through bred racehorses and rodeo bulls are considered athletes as well. Just saying.:bbb:bbb:bbb

^^Armstrong isn't actually that gifted of a rider. He just raced one race, the big race for all of his career pretty much. He's the best Tour rider, the best one trick pony of France ever, you could say. He was also a master tactician amongst his other colorful talents... lol.

Jordan and Deion Sanders, crap Deion had some agility, speed, hand coordination. What can you say about Jordan that hasn't been said before? Going back To Deion, how many shutdown corners were there in the history of the game that could play offense as well as be an allstar in a whole other sport?

And could Lance Armstrong Box? How can you even compare a contact sport like boxing to cycling ?Who's punching Lance in the face  Come on now ..Cycling is not boxing and vice versa ..

But then again I think as a previous post said its about athleticism ..Not greatness ..Though Armstong and MJ are more accomplished Jones is still a better athlete than Armstrong ,Jordan ah not so much ..

Dude, he is not the best rider of his era. He won the most tours because he had the biggest machine behind him and the best dope. I like LA too, but let's be realistic here.

To give you an idea of great rider:

Lance Armstrong won the Tour De France 7 times, what kind of man does that, your average joe. It takes a well trained athlete. Not hating on RJJ but he dont stand above all other great athletes in being athletic. It dont wash. Ill bet if Jones rode half of the tour de france with Lance, then Lance would be able to get off his bike and knock his tired ass out.
