You don't have to be athletic to be a cyclist. Christ dude, you don't know **** about cycling. You've got lumbering oaths like Jan Ulrich. Have you seen a cyclist up close, or even rode a bike for years? They have puny upper bodies, much like endurance runners.

Jones on the other hand had the whole package, speed, agility, strength. If you took LA and RJJ and made them run the 100m, high jump, triple, or bench press. Who would win?

  2. so why the **** are people tryin to compare them, rjj is a boxer and armstrong a ****in cyclist OMG IS EVERYONE ******ED ON ESB OR WAT

What is all this rubbish about MJ and Lance Armstrong accomplishing more than RJJ? RJJ was a boxing world champion in the middle, SM, LH and Heavy weight divisions. He was also untouchable and dominant in the M, SM and LH divisions. Don't compare non friggin contact sports to boxing. When you start having people punching your face in Basketball can you talk. RJJ was the better athlete simply because he used his great athleticism to beat GREAT fighters like Toney and Hopkins. RJJ wasn't a better boxer. MJ was better skilled than the rest, not some amazing superman on the court. RJJ in the ring was superman.

Who in the world have enough insights in so many sports he or she can make such a judgement? If it was boxing only, I would say sure, you can make a case out of it. Though some fans would probably scream Tyson or Ali in reply.

Armstrong and Contador have doping allegations over their heads so they should be excluded. Eddie Merckx is the greatest cyclist of all time.
Also in tennis Nadal is more athletic than Federer.

some of you guys are really slow. I clearly said STRICTLY in terms of PHYSICAL ABILITY. A lot of you are confusing this with ACHIEVEMENT. ... and Roy did achieve a HELL of a lot, people are underestimating his career. Won championships in many weight classes and defeated his two biggest rivals, Hopkins and Toney. He also overcame adversity and beat Antonio Tarver.

jeez, if you are talking Atheletism then the Olympic Gymnast Vitaly Sherbo is head and shoulders above RJJ. World and Olympic Champion on multiple Occasions, took on and dominated the best in every competition, had to change the scoring system because he was so perfect

jordan & armstrong faced the best competition available in their sports, they did it over and over again & proved beyond doubt against all comers that they were the very best in their respective fields.

    roy didn't.

i can think of someone else; a boxer; who has doping allegations over his head. i'll give you three guesses.

how about bo jackson or carl lewis? they had the "physical ability" to excel in 2 sports. & they faced the very best to prove it in both. just throwing it out there.

i like how you chastise people for bringing up "achievement" then proceed to discuss his achievements.

Roy Jones was a specimen in his prime, combination of reflex, speed and agility was amazing.
