I see an easy win for Gamboa. The guy he is facing is just too damn slow i think to deal with him

Though its funny cause im watching the highlights and gamboa looks like he throws arm punches at times and kinda slaps a little, like it looks weird but it has power

any way he runs in hands down with no head movement and can leave himself open when throwing both hands like that i wanna see him in with a veteran counter puncher who will stand his ground and time gamboa or even come at gamboa in the face of attack

Yes, I am also very excited to see Cuba's " Bon Bon " back in action! I call Gamboa,
" the Cuban Bon Bon " as he is without a doubt the best of Cuba in the pros. This nickname belong to Cuba's best from the past " Kid Chocolate " as a Bon Bon was the absolute best when it came to Chocolates in those old days. Gamboa is taking over!

Ponce de Leon doesn't have the speed, technique, combos, chin nor skills to hang in there with the fastest/strongest/most explosive little man in the sport today. Gamboa TKO's him in early to mid rounds. :p

Hmmm, that's a tough one but I will say " YES ". Rigondeaux was much better than Gamboa in the amateurs ( but not by much ) but it seems that while Rigo is another Beast altogether, Gamboa's style, speed and natural athleticism is more suited for the pros.

Rigo is still adapting to the pro game but Gamboa has fully adapted and is getting better and better with each pro fight. Rigo on the other hand, is better technically, defensively and counterpunching but Gamboa is better at offense, speed and natural athleticism.

    Hopes this helps! :good

Always enjoy watching Gamboa do his thing.

PDL has improved lately but he's still a class below Yuri. I expect another dominant win for Gamboa.

All that's stopping him from being right up there in the P4P rankings is a lack of big fights. If he gets the big ones, like John and Donaire, he'll get the recognition his talent deserves.

I'm also very hyped for this fight.

Not a bad weekend with the Vitali-Adamek fight.

Im going to have to agree to disagree. While i do agree that Rigo is still making the transition to Pro while Gamboa is already there i see Rigos style being superior while also giving him a much longer career than Gamboa will enjoy. We have all seen what happens to guys like Gamboa when they lose a fraction of a second in their reflexes. It ends bad. Normally that happens around their late 20s early 30s in the lower weight classes.
Rigo can afford to lose speed and make up for it with his technical brilliance.

I think as of now Gamboa is more complete in the pros but he will drop soon while Rigo can actually go on to dominate at the elite level longer.

Very good points and I mostly agree but you never know, maybe Gamboa can fight strongly until his late 30's ( because of his freakish natural athleticism ). And yes, due to Rigo's superior technique he can fight a long time and still dominate because of his unreal skills. Good points!
