"Every boxer is the same and that last couple of pounds is really difficult. I make lightweight easy and, if the move were to happen, then I could bulk up a bit and I’d be a lot stronger but for now I am perfectly happy at super featherweight."

Straight from the horses mouth. "...perfectly happy..."

I was on Fr-nk site and it clearly states that appleby is gunning for Burns if he beats Walsh
what a weird situation that would be as both are supposed to be Billys boys . I have said my bit on this and as billy says who are we to argue with the great one he no,s best but I cant see him box Mitchel as he has on going problems with HMPS .Now i can see him boxing maybe REES OR MURRAY . The only problem would be his ranking so maybe a european shot first as he would be big under dog against any of the top boys so would need to dig up someone who not really dangerous

" Broner is a great fighter and I have said repeatedly that I would never duck anyone in my career because I want the big fights. When you look at the top ten, these are the guys that I’m meant to be up against. Although I’ve taken some stick for recent title defences, people need to realise, none of them were my choice. Having said that my mandatory is Adrien Broner and that is a fight I am really up for."

:happy :happy :happy Fair play to Ricky, exactly as I thought he'd feel about it. He's a class act who wants to prove himself against the best. FFS Allegedly, get him the fight :deal

And look who comes over as a limelight hogging tosser again:

Ricky need to put his foot down and demand the Broner fight then afterwards move up.

Why we speculating Burns is clearly moving up going by what Nelson is saying the Broner fight is dead in the water. Lets just wait for the opponent

No problem with you thinking Burns wins the fight, and just find it very hard to fathom why on earth Mitchell would be scared of Burns as a opponent. Any reason?

    It's Ricky's choice after all.

I've nothing against a move to lightweight in principle but the timing couldn't be worse.

Plus it makes no sense, there's a nice lump of cash on offer and a potentially big scalp... or move to 135 with nothing other than a high ranking with the WBO, who aren't going to strip Marquez for obvious reasons.

Other than his management being scared of losing there's no reason to move up!

I'd love to hear the conversations between the various people.

''Ricky mate.... this mandatory has stopped a couple of people, it's a bit dangerous, time to move up''

''But I make 130 fine, there's a big chance here for me in America''

''Yes, but I've got fighters here at 135 that need fights, we can have a great series of fights and I can make loads of money''

''But what's in it for me?''

If Ricky fights a world class LW i ain't complaining pure and simple. Mitchell and Murray ain't the fighters i wanna see Ricky fight.

    I agree.

I'm a fan of both men but Billy i know you will read this as well. You need to rise above personal jibes and also recognize when people genuinely care and want to see Ricky going in the right path.

I know a majority of us wanna see you and Ricky do well but your pushing fans away from him on here when you talk down to people dismissively.

I didnt say he was scared and am sure Mitchell would take it, i should have worded it better, my bad.

Call me cynical but i get the impression that even this will fall through, as obvious as it is that it makes sense for Varren yadayada.
