64kg Moylette: European Gold medalist, World Youth Championship Gold medalist

    69kg: Sheehan: EU Gold medalist

75kg: O'Neill: European Silver medalist, EU Gold medalist

81kg: Ward: European Gold medalist, World Youth Championship Gold medalist , World Junior Championship Gold medalist.

91kg: Egan: Olympic Silver medalist, 2 time European Bronze medalist, 3 time EU Gold medalist, EU Silver medalist, 2 time EU Bronze medalist.

91kg+ Sheehan: EU Silver medalist at 91kg.

Shows the strength of the Irish team going, even the only one there who hasn't medalled at a major or big(EU) championship in Conlon is still a very handy fighter and well capable. He defeated arguably England's best fighter (Yafai) in the Europeans.

Some talented fighters among the ranks of the GB boys sent as well so we should definitely see some medals and quite a few Olympic qualifiers from the two countries.

some say the worlds are a tougher tournament than the Olympics.

think team GB are weaker squad than the last lot.

There are 7 lads from the columbian team coming to train at Gateshead college next week before they go out to the world championships so we'll be training with them for a week. Apparently they want to do some sparring but the coach says he's not going to let us because they will probably be going all out to get ready for the world championships. I wouldn't mind sparring some of the fighters in the lighter weights though even though they'd probably still give me a hiding lol.

They're coming tomorow, they'll be hear all of next week before they go to the tournament. I think Glen McCrory may be coming down with the sky sports lot. They'll also be coming down again some time next year and I think we're going down to train with the GB squad down in Sheffield for a few days. Part of the new boxing accademy Gateshead college are running. I'm sure if you contact the college they'll be happy to let you run story or what ever.

    No Martin Stead still.

Has he got contractual issues with the army or something?

Five fewer days of boxing than the Olympics and five fights, possibly six.

    Adios.
