I would think GSP is gutted. A win over Diaz would have been a great name for his legacy

Aside from Anderson, BJ is the closest thing to an MMA version of Money and you'll see the gulf in class between the best MMA boxing and Diaz's version of it when this fight happens. Noons and Daley are decent strikers but their boxing isn't as awesome as advertised.

#1- Diaz doesn't jab, he paws that right hand out to guage range and a lackadaisical jab like that invites disaster against a guy who can pull counter. BJ is one of the handful of MMA guys I've seen that can pull this off and his counter left hook is very good.

#2- Diaz throws the loopiest hooks I've seen outside of Chuck Liddell and he gets away with it because he's got a great Chin and the guys he's fighting aren't the best counterpunchers around. BJ's straight right is quick and it hits like a freight train and Diaz will be open for it every time he opens up and even when he's just standing around waving his arms.

#3- Diaz leans in and ducks his head down when he comes in with his overhand left and BJ has a great counter uppercut.

#4- Diaz likes to employ a step-in right hook and his left hand drops WAY down every time. Once again, the straight right and overhand will wreak havoc here.

BJ has the best boxing in the UFC. The difference will be so noticeable after the first couple of exchanges.

If BJ has the best where does Frankie Edgar rate? He beat BJ twice in basically boxing matches.

No, it's on the GSP/Condit card.

Well, the logical conclusion is that BJ does not have the best boxing in the UFC. No rational person can make that claim after seeing the Edgar fights, especially the 2nd one.

BJ fought the right game plan the first fight, and I thought he won it with cleaner punches. Penn needs to stand in the center of the cage, make Edgar come to him, work off his jab, and look to counter.

In the rematch, Penn showed what a mistake being more aggressive makes for his style against Edgar's. It almost looked like De la Hoya against Pacquiao.
