in his defence, why, if in a 50-50 fight (in their opinion) would you not want to tip the balance in your favour?

a interesting question would be, if burns were to call out broner on twitter (and all the other ridiculous methods) loudly and shout to every writer that would listen, would broner be prepared to meet burns at lightweight, if burns' weight is causing problems? maybe a catchweight? ;)

But what's in it for Broner? No belt, not much money, and a 50-50 chance of a loss.

Yep, sad to say but the belt is what's forcing the matchup between two top ten fighters (shocking division) but I for one really hope it gets made.

    Burns will **** it :deal

Even drained he's better than Broner.

What makes me so sad is my heart was in my mouth when he beat Martinez. The guts, desire and skills he showed were incredible. His willingness to stand with Martinez was insane but thrilling and won him the fight.

To think he went from that to Nicky Cook... shameful.

Forget who's advising Burns, he has to make a decision for himself of what HE thinks is best for him, not what his team think, as their perception might be completely wrong, and this could backfire dramatically leaving Burns with a sense of, why did I listen? That is if this is NOT his decision, which I'm inclined to think it isn't, as I believe Burns would face Broner, although not necessarily beat him.

ive just read through the 29 pages on here and im disgusted by ricky burns management on trying to avoid broner.

burns clearly wants the big fight in america , the interview on secondsout proves this....

    http://www.secondsout.com/headlines...urns-exclusive-my-preference-is-adrien-broner

ricky burns has mentioned in numerous interviews that he makes 130 easy so for ****** , morrison and nelson to say that a move to lightweight is better for his is wrong.

vs broner he gets paid big £200k reported , hes on HBO , his profile gets raised bigtime especially as its a pickem fight , i actually thik ricky will win on workrate but my fear is ricky getting robbed.

even if ricky gets beat he can still move to lightweight and get big fights because hes fought 2 very good fighters in martinez and broner

ricky will lose fans if he avoids broner and i can understand that but please note that ricky wants the fight...his team clearly dont , ****** and morrison dont and nelson although confident about his man's abilities is now against the fight and wants him to go to 135 when ricky clearly says he makes 130 easy.

if im ricky im demanding that if the broner fight is off then his management team offer the same amount of money that golden boy are offering for the broner fight...other than that , get me on the flight to fight broner.

i bet ****** and co would then accept the fight that ricky wants.

ps: can i add that rickys management team have made a complete f.uck-up of the mandatory fight , the WBO in the last 5 months have had 5 different guys at no.1....if they were smart they should have arranged the fight with eloy perez or wil tomlinson when they were no1 as it would hace resulted in ricky beating them and having another year to make the fights that he wants.

but no...they fecked about fights low ranked fighters and lost the momentum that ricky built up vs martinez.

i was for ricky getting no more than 2 east defences as he was entitled to them as he had a year to fight his mandatory...but vs cook in his last fight was a farce

ricky wants the fight vs broner...have confidence in his ability

Doesn't Billy Nelson come across classy in this thread.

I've seen fighter's come on here like Bellew and Gavin, take monumental **** off some of the fan's but not rise the way Billy has. Grow up fella', your making yourself look an idiot.

If Burn's was to fight anybody below a top 5 rated LW (properly rated, not shitty WBO ratings) it'd be a let down, specially when he could go on to unify the division he's currently in. He's said himself he feel's fine at the weight, so that's no longer an issue

What you need to realise B Nelson is:

    1. When you sell tickets for world championship fights against Laryea, Evesen, and Crock. Its called Fraud.
    2. When you actually get a chance to defend the fraudulant title against someone meaningful and you avoid, its called Duck.
