When Tony Bellew catches Nathan Cleverley flush I think the fight will be over...:yep Cleverley will choose to trade and get drawn into Tony's fight...:yep

You see the Macintosh fight? Go watch Clev bomb a guy out who for me is very similar level as Bellew.

Just watched Clev again fighting that wee pole, & Im not sold on Clev yet. He looked the part, quick hands & good punch variety, & an impressive workrate it has to be said! Then the wee guy lands a nice left hook on him & Cleverly is on ***** street... you cant help but think to yourself if a naturally big, naturally powerful lad like Bellew lands flush, whats going to happen?

I think this is going to be a harder night than Clevs fans are expecting, especially as he will be fighting in Bellews backyard...

Clev is just so open and he's only really been tagged by blown up SMW's so don't understand how people have decided he has a good chin either. If he stays illusive then Clev takes a decision or late TKO but if he trades Tony stops him for me

Thats the thing, I have a funny feeling this could be a 'chess match' as Clev thinks hes the better boxer, & Tony was quite happy playing it safe in his last fight. Maybe both guys will try to outsmart the other by not engaging like everyone thinks they will do & keeping it on the outside... but I hope Im wrong:good

  6. Its Cleverly's defence that worries me, Don't get me wrong I think he's got a decent chin but he's a bit eager to prove it, Tony can punch and although people slag his last performance off, he proved that he can box to a gameplan, something Ive not seen from Cleverly as of yet, Its a 50/50 fight IMO?

Cleverly is from the Calzaghe school of defence, eat right hands and ask for more.

Either that or he watched Hagler vs Hearns too often as a kid and thought ''**** it, I can do that too''.

Yeah we have to forget this world title bull**** as well. At this stage this is basically a euro level fighter against a top domestic fighter so is no mismatch

This is far from a 50/50 fight, everyone is going on if Bellew is Julian Jackson, he has a good dig but lets have it right he has been the distance two out of the last three times and the stoppage he did get was one of the worst stoppages I have ever seen, It is no coincidence that three fights ago he stepped up his level and he has gone the distance twice and most probably should of gone the distance in all three.

The stoppage against Ovil was early but no way the worst I've seen. Tony was landing more and more frequently and would have stopped him if it had gone on

It was a disgraceful stoppage he didnt even land the so called final punch, mckenzie wasnt even dazed or in trouble.

To be honest, I havent really followed Cleverlys career, for the simple reason I dont get to see as much boxing as I used to! So heres a question for my brit ESB brothers, has Cleverly always been such a smug character? Or does Bellew just bring out this side of his personality?

  13. He doe's remind me of Calzaghe a bit If Im honest, leaky defence, overwhelms opponents with volume of punches, etc, He just doe's it in a much more lazy way and will be nowhere near as good, He hasn't got that little extra handspeed to make that style work?

To be fair a lot of people won't have seen much of Cleverly.

It's not so long back he was only considered a middling domestic prospect at best - might knock a crack a few heads together before retiring to make a living in a day job.

Despite being a smug **** he's done very well for himself, especially considering the glaring flaws he has. Unless a few changes are made to his style/approach he won't last long at the top.... get's hit way too much for my liking. He's lucky that Allegedly selects opponents as much on their KO % as to how good they are.
