Is Roberto Duran the greatest boxer since Sugar Ray Robinson?

But thats the H2H side of things. Duran achieved more than any other boxer in that timeframe. Thats the bottom line for me.

I think saying Barkley is a ''great'' win is pushing it a bit, but I've no gripe with the ranking of Duran well inside the top 10.

The only really bad defeats in his peak years are the Hearns one, a man who he'd never beat in a million years..... and obviously the bottle job against Leonard.

Duran vs Whitaker would probably be the most skilled matchup in any weight division....

How is anyone gonna' box Durans head off?! Sweet Pea was not a negative fighter, and wouldn't use the same tactics as Leonard, and a prime 135lb Duran would not have been held off by Pea.

It would be a classic battle, as both men are brilliantly well-rounded. Pea had a masterful and consistent jab, Duran was one of the best at taking that away and getting his laser-like right hand off. Both men were durable and extremely hard to hit (Pea moreso) with Duran the better inside fighter (though Pea was very capable here) and Duran has the obvious big edge in power (though Pea is an underrated puncher and no feather fist)

This is one of the all time close matchups in terms of attributes. 'Boxes his head off?' Are you mental?

Either way, Duran is clearly the greater fighter, even if you do think Pea would beat him. That is impossible to argue against.

Palomino is a great win. He was a very capable, very tough and intelligent pressure fighter who dug to the body savagely. Duran took everything away from him and dominated one of the better Welters of the era. Not a great fighter, but a very good one and a great performance.

I could easily swap him for Ross, and I could easily put Fitz in the 10th place. There is no doubt Pep is somewhere between 8-20.

His ability; off the scale.

His resume is good rather than insanely good, but he went on some terrific streaks and has some very, very good wins on there.
