"While co-promoter Top Rank tried to draw the public attention to a possible fight between Gamboa and bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire who plans to move up to 126 sooner or later, “El Ciclon” is eyeing a megafight with another Filipino."

“I would love to get a shot at Manny Pacquiao”, Gamboa said before the weigh-in. “I always said that I want to prove that I’m the best boxer in the world. To be the best you have to beat the best so I hope that at some point I get the chance to do that. I think a fight against Pacquiao at 140 could be fantastic.”

Gamboa will pull a pacquiao in late 2013 and jump from 130 to 140 while pac moves down a division and gets hated on like Oscar.

Is not Gamboa at the top as far as exciting fighters to watch? Along with Donaire.

Gamboa fights all seem to have him KO or at least KD his opponents, often with him getting KDed along the way. Often non-stop action.

If he really could put on the weight before Pac retires, why not?
Or is he talking smack and avoiding the other Filipino?

Pac is one of the most overrated boxers in history. He throws one to two punches at a time and can easily be hit. If there's a fighter out there who can beat him is Gamboa. A common opponent of both " Jorge Solis " said that Gamboa hits harder and is stronger than Pac!

But first he has to concentrate on Ponce de Leon tonight and then start beating the best guys at 130lbs. Plus, by the time Gamboa goes to 140lbs ( if he ever gets to that weight ), Pac will be retired by then. People, don't put Pacquiao in a pedestal, Gamboa has all the tools to beat him. At least let's give credit to Gamboa for showing " the guts " to wanting to fight Pac! ;)
