IMO the right hand to the body is one of the most under utilized punches in boxing.

    I love that shot.

I see so many openings for that shot. Really underused and underrated. I'm not talking about the straight right to pit of the stomach but the roundhouse right hand to the ribs

One of the problems I see quite often when you watch none title level boxing (and even when you do sometimes) is that it can sometimes be a slap of sorts. I see if far to much to my liking landing with the inside of the glove. I think its the sort of punch best throw when inside, mid-range a lot of guys seem to get it wrong. Celestine Cabellero is murder for it.

That being said, if you can hook your power hand and crack it right into the ribs properly, then your doing some significant damage.

I use it all the time. It's always there, it hurts, and it sets up a number of other things.

Thats one of Marquez's best shots, and he used it many times against PACQUIAO I'm not surprised at your love for it... It's a great shot

Usually landed when a guy is on the ropes, but they have to watch the counter left, which is the problem.

Throwing a straight right opens you quite a bit as it is. A right hook literally opens up your defense when thrown from the outside. Makes you reach a little too much and for most just doesn't feel comfortable or worth it. Once on the ropes it's a diff. story though. Or if you're quick on your feet and are able to find angles.
