Josh Barnett vs. Daniel Cormier for the strikeforce grand prix finals!!

I know cormier will be hard to get down but that Catch Wrestling really is hard to defend against. If he can get it to the mat its done

 

If Barnett can't take Cormier down its already over.

 

On the flip side if he DOES get him down its over too.

 

Truly a catch-22

 

If Cormier can stop the takedown, I think that he lights Barnett up standing.

I really don't want to wait 4-5 months to see this fight though.

 

Hows barnett's chin nowadays? After watching Silva get KOed like he did, i think barnett might be worried :!:

 

Going out on a limb and calling Cormier. Barnett's improved his boxing but Cormier, for his Michelin Man looks, is fast, hits hard, and can control where the bout takes place. Barnett's Jaw is depreciating fast and I halfway expect that Cormier cracks it.

 

I'll be watching for sure....I think Barnett will win imo.

 

Very happy for Cormier. That guy is f'in impressive, considering he's a fat light heavyweight.
On the wrong side of 30. And had health problems. That said this GP has been tainted and is really quite meaningless now. Still id expect Barnett to win by submission. How he gets Cormier to the mat though is a different kettle of fish. That guy is an excellent grappler. Barnett's got his work cut out. If Cormier can win dudes a top 10 heavyweight point blank. Matter of fact he's a top ten heavy now.

 

Cormier is a fantastic wrestler, but Barnett has some unorthodox grappling techniques. Gonna' be a brilliant matchup, quite like the Super Six we haven't uite seen the matchups we were after, but we've had some intriguing fights nonetheless.

Dana will be hoping Cormier wins ;-)

 

I like Cormier, for him to get to the top after the tough life he's had would be impressive.

 

Win or loose Cormier will be in the UFC. And he's going to kick some serious ass and upset a few apple carts thats real.

 

I don't recall seeing Barnett on his back a lot. What if Cormier puts him there?

 

Barnett has an excellent guard. He has a vast array of subs. Barnett won't be out of his depth at all vs Cormier on the ground. The grappling advantage though goes to Cormier because of his freestyle background. Wether that will make any difference though remains to be seen.
