I think Ortiz trained non stop for 10 rounds, with all his sparring partners.. This is the way some Train.. but I'm just speculating, I doubt, it was 10 rounds with 1 minute rests..

When I use to spar before an amateur fight my trainer would pair me with 3 guys... 3 rounds each with no rest...

    Maybe they doing that?

Of course. He has all his sparring partner rotating. That is how Garcia will build his stamina to go 12 rounds as if vs the best Floyd anybody seen.
He stepped on the gas last 15 months. He went from throwing 30 punches a round to over 50 vs Berto, mostly big power shots.

I don't consider Victor a cherry-picked opponent and because Floyd didn't fight Cotto or Margarito he's a cherry-picker, I call bull****, if Floyd didn't fight Baldo or even Zab at the time people would say he ducked them as well, there aren't any fighters who will fight everyone in or around their division, Pac isn't doing it Sergio isn't doing it, Gamboa won't fight every supposed threat nor will Nonito, that's just how **** goes, its about dollars son, its a business, a career...next you'll be saying he ducked Canelo, Angulo and anyone else you can think of..

But Baldomir or Judah were safer than Kosta. World Class knockout power near or at prime is what's avoided.

What??? Kosta??? First off Floyd pretty much by-passed Jr. ww, beside snatching the belt from Gatti and Kosta never fought at welter and was irrelevant or retired when Floyd started his welter-weight career, but you just proved my point, you can just grab a name out of any where and claim Floyd ducked them, like anyone can fight everyone...

Ortiz might be overtrained. He's gonna have a 10 week training camp and he already took two days off because of muscle soreness. He already lost before the first bell rang. :patsch

The talk of Floyd is truly as if he is a top 20 ATG. The only thing that is missing to make that comfortable for boxing was a fight vs Kosta and a 2007,8 Cotto or Marg or just vs Pac 2012 or before. Mosley & Ortiz* is better than all 10 from 2003-2009 on excluding ODLH.

I am adding the * for the pink limousine.

Like yourself, I truly believe this is a VERY dangerous fight for Mayweather. The impromtu retirements & layoffs etc, plus age (almost 35) are the reasons why I believe Floyd is vulnerable to losing soon as well. Ortiz has put a lot of different fighters on the canvas at some point and he is young, but also HUNGRY. He knows this is an instant shot through to the stratosphere if he wins.

You make strong points that I agree with, but what I want to know is this: If Floyd Mayweather wins this fight, will you give him his proper credit?? Do you think he deserves credit for coming out with a win against Ortiz, considering the breakdown you and I both fully stand behind??

He still has time to fight Pac and him beating Cotto or Marg doesn't make anyone an all time great, neither one of those dudes will even be HOFers...Floyd will be an all time great without them, hatred come with the territory...no matter what he does his resume will be scrutinized...

You have to be a hater not to give him credit for coming out of retirement at 35 and fighting a tuneup against the hungriest and freshest Welter out there.
If he smokes Ortiz start to finish without a hitch I would even call Floyd vs Pac an even toss up for 2012.
