Prescott won that fight by 2 rounds, it was 115 - 112 for me (the knockdown in round 1 making it 3 points) it put McCloskey's fight with Khan into perspective though, McCloskey would have done f-ck all for the last 6 rounds if the fight had continued and given away a lopsided UD, Khan is leagues above both fighters nowadays, neither would survive a rematch with him. Feel sorry for Prescott though, his hopes of a return with Khan are surely just a pipe dream now.
The knockdown was more like a judo throw than a punch (which was at the back of the head) McCloskey tripped over Prescotts legs. Close fight, was more like a draw than a McCloskey victory, but was close enough that it couldve went either way.
McCloskey won that fight 114-113, sweeping the last 5 rounds. If you want to do something so completely pointless as to use this fight to put the Khan fight into perspective, then yeah, lets do that. Khan was 6 rounds up on the cards against McCloskey and tiring. McCloskey showed a huge second half of the fight against Prescott, thus showing he is a 2nd half fighter. Khan was 5.5 rounds away from showing how he'd have performed against Prescott in the second half. The only possible conclusion any fair minded person could reach is that McCloskey in rounds 6-12 would have brutally and systematically destroyed Khan.......that is if you are prepared to use this fight to put the Khan fight into perspective.
I only seen a draw here lads, if anything, Mcloskey deserved it by a single round, Wish more fighters could show this kind of heart, i wonder if khan v mcloskey would have been stopped if u take away the cut and replace it with the busted nose paul had last night
McCloskey is ****ing terrible to watch, he has no power he looks like a bum from the down the pub, probably the worst euro champ there has ever been.
No, what the fight proved was that Dudey can be outboxes by a guy with shocking technique, and only come into it once Prescott gassed badly.

So a badly gassing Khan would have fallen over.....if you were to use this to put the Khan fight into perspective.
But it is ok to say that this fight, where Paul won, puts the Khan fight into perspective? It is ok to draw pointless, unsupportable conclusions.....but only if you agree with them? who is Mcloskey?
presscott won the fight by two rounds imho cannot be happy with that result really . what the **** is up with the judges they are killing boxing in a bad way:-(i know more fans turning to other sports than are turning to boxing this sort of **** happening puts the sport in a bad light
Prescott won that fight, simple. McCloskey is a poor fighter and will get mauled at World Level anyway.
McCloskey won it by 2 or 1 rounds depending on how you scored the KD in the first. I thought he showed a good chin and plenty of heart in that fight and I think it is fair to say that he would give anyone at 10st an awkward evenings work.
How do you figure that? Firstly, he didn't give Khan an awkward evenings work. And going life and death with Prescott says to me he'd be a fairly easy nights work for the top guys. This is a guy Kevin Mitchell soundly outboxed, and he was blown away when he stepped up in class.
Its sad when you score a fight to one guy yet you already know he wont be getting the victory. McCloskey only came into the fight once Prescott gassed badly, sweeping the last 5 rounds means **** all on my scorecard if you pretty much lose the first 7 rounds conclusively.
