apart from 1 round he lost the first 7 rounds, which supports the theory that Prescott deserved nothing less than a draw. Feel sorry for Prescott big time.

Easy pay day for Amir if rematch happens....half fit, half bothered and very distracted AK dominated a fully motivated McCloskey. I'd love to see a rematch so we can all watch the McClown get whooped hahaha

Fight was very close and I wouldn't have complained if it had of went the other way. McCloskey started very badly, his reflexes were poor, his jab was falling short. Fair play to Precott for outboxing him for most of the first half of the fight and for surprising everyone with his game plan. I think the Mitchell comparison is unfair - Prescott was struggling with the weight at lightweight in much the same way Khan was.

McCloskey showed tonight that he's more than just awckward, he can fight too when he has to and he can come from behind to ground out a win in a gruelling fight. This will stand to him when he fights Maidana.

Well done McCloskey for the victory although he isn't getting as much credit as he or Hearns would have liked.

So now we know how McCloskey's gameplan changes in the last rounds, the same game plan he would've executed against Khan. But realistically even if McCloskey had fought at the same pace he did in the last 6 rounds all the way through the fight against Khan, he would still fall short.

McCloskey's reflexes were slowing down in the last 6 and if he did that against Khan then Khan would have stopped him by TKO in all honesty.

And as far as Khan getting tired is concerned, he has only tired once in his career and that was against Maidana where he took an absolute beating so i guess its fair. I don't think Khan would have tired against McCloskey even if it went 15 rounds.

I think most people will agree that it's unlikely that McCloskey would have gone on to win the Khan fight over 12 rounds. Having said that the second half performace of the Precott fight raises some interesting questions about what might have happened if the shakles had been taken off and McCloskey had fought more. Funnily enough McCloskey's reflexes and head movement were better against Khan than Prescott.

It's strange that he fought the fighter and won and boxed the boxer and lost. I think he'll be more rounded fighter after this and I reckon McCloskey will beat Maidana.

I thought the only round McCloskey won in the first 7 was round 4. Prescott won the rest comfortable IIRC.

    :huh

    Shocking card BTW.

I seriously want to ask Terry O'Connor how he could give McCloskey 8 clear rounds, utter bull****.

If he did open up in the last 6 rounds against Khan he would have been caught much more and like I said maybe a TKO i don't see him troubling Khan with his best offensive but can trouble Khan in the sense that make him look bad with his best defensive work.

He will give Maidana an awkward night but if Maidana walks him down and pounds him then I dont think he'll stay in there.

McCloskey nicked round 2 i thought and round 4 and the last 5 rounds. round 12 is abit of a sore point on here but hust prescott wobbled him i cant give him that round because he didnt do enough. I thought a draw was fair result but it didnt work out like that. Great fight thoe i enjoyed it thankyou Ireland..

Which fights has Khan slowed down like Prescott did last night? Yeh thats right, none. He doesnt have the power to hurt Khan so you know your just talking out of your backside now mate.
