Since as far back as he defeat of Kevin Johnson, Vitali always fights with his mouht open, like he's gasping for air. Yes, he has been the 12 round distance numerous times, but I do think he does have a stamina problem, even if its a slight one. Last night, from early on in the contest, he looked to be sucking it up a lot.
He's a very consumate professional, he can afford to breathe with his mouth open (for more oxygen to his body). He's very relaxed in the ring and can turn it up whenever he wants to turn it up, as proven in his last two fights.
A 6'8 frame at 250lb throwing 70 punches per round needs tons of Oxygene. He has ALWAYS fought with his mouth open like that cause hes taking in huge breaths. If throwing more punches than anyone in the division with power like his over 12 rounds is a stamina problem im sure a lot more fighters wished they had his "problem"
Sure he's forty, huge, and fights with his mouth open but at the same time he fights at the pace he wants and that allows him to keep going all night. He has no trouble throwing all those punches and moving around the ring.
This is true. For his size he has great cardio. I would love to see someone make him fight at a pace he is not comfortable with, but there is no one that can do this, so fighting at his own pace he has great conditioning.
always thought he was starting to gass out vs lennox when it was stopped, a high paced fight vs a strong good opponent might bother him. But his stamina seems to be decent, and vs these type of opponents he can afford to drop his his hands and breath with his mouth open, since he is dictating the pace.
There's nothing wrong with his stamina imo. I think it was around round 5 or so the Sky Team was saying he was starting to gass as he had his mouth open like its anything new.
i heard he has sinus defect(like 40% of the populace), that's why he has to breathe with his mouth open
He always looks tired. For that matter he just looks odd all together with his stance and everything. And fighters think they can exploit this, but they never do. He's very intelligent in there and his awkwardness makes him look out of place in the ring, but he constantly finds his target, moves out of range, turns his opponents and controls fights. Its very frustrating for opponents. You could see it on Adameks face quickly yesterday. Vitali also mopes back to his corner at the bell like he has nothing left. I just don't think he likes to waste any energy for any reason, and its certainly a good idea.
have you guys ever heard of taking 1 fight to many?many great fighters have, like ali, frazier, etc.lets hope vitali doesn't,but i'm not so sure.
Exactly. Yeah, Vitali regularly goes 10-12 rounds at about age 40 and he's got a "stamina problem?" :rofl ****, what will they come up with next?:nut
