After re-watching the Berto fight, I was amazed how many straight up bombs he took to win. Do you think Floyd's got enough power to keep Victor from walking through his shots and jumping on him?
floyd's power is very good, but he cant really throw too many bombs as his hands are brittle. he relies on his boxing skills. he's gonna need to move around a lot.
Mayweather's a lot more accurate, and his power is more stinging in my opinion. Ortiz will eventually respect his power as the bout goes on.
Ortiz isn't exactly iron chinned. He's shown vulnerability. Also, Floyd will hit him in the body like noone Ortiz has ever fought
Floyd doesn't have big power. He has respectable pop, but that's it. His accuracy and speed is what makes up for it.
He will have to, Floyd can hit the target 99/100 before him, and if he doesn't respect it he's going to get laid out.
Yes, after a couple of those straight rights, right on the nose, he will. He will be the one moving back after that.
Floyd has the speed and accuracy to hit Ortiz squarely on the button, and then dodge him before he is able to counter. He isn't the hardest puncher, but his power is enough that Ortiz will not like what he feels. This will get old very quickly for Ortiz, especially when he realizes after about 6 to 8 rounds that Floyd has the stamina to do this the entire fight. Floyd stops him late, around the 10th or 11th.
The worst punches are those you don't see, and with Ortiz forward momentum and Floyds speed, he's going to HAVE to respect him, otherwise he'll end up like Ricky Hatton.
x2 Pure power isn't the only thing that can make an opponent respect your punches. Mosely, as the fight wore on, became very hesitant in committing himself to attacks. I'm not sure whether this had more to do with him being shot and gassed, but one thing's for certain, is that his chin is more durable than Ortiz, and Mayweather still kept him at bay. That's gotta count for something.
