Should Mccloskey give Presscot a rematch?

WTF. So a rematch is justified because he was looking tired?! :rofl

Cuts happen all the time. That's why these type of rules are implemented. It got stopped, McCloskey didn't say ANYTHING till his team came up and made a tantrum.

And last night's fight just proved how strong McCloskey was going to come on in the Khan fight :rofl

 

A rematch is justified because the fight was ended on a little cut way to prematurely. And its not like mcclosky was taking to much punishement.
And yesterdays fight didnt really prove anything. Ironicly i would have to say thou if they stopped the fight last night cuz of the bleeding nose.. (as riduculous as the khan cut) Prescott would have done much better then khan did.

 

It shouldn't have been stopped, but that does not justify a rematch. He lost unanimously, and that's that.

Better than Khan did? Seems you and I were watching a different fight, because rounds between Prescott and McCloskey were tough to score at times. Khan made it clear cut in every round till it got stopped.

And again, cuts happen all the time, so regardless of whether it was premature or not, it happened and Khan won the 6 rounds, clear cut. If it was justified, we would be hearing it again and again from Matchroom etc etc.

 

yep, saw some emotive justification for it at the time and would have posted same. the merits of having it and the reasons against have been discussed in great detail. i've long since acknowledged that mccloseky wouldn't have beaten khan that night if the fight had of continued.

I've never argued that khan won all the rounds he did thats a fact. But as most people who would want to see a rematch the reason is that when you have a visibly tired fighter who has question marks about his chin you know anything COULD of happened. But khan won.

Prescott won all the 1st six rounds except for 1 or maybe 2. And with the kd.....

 

Mate.. I honestly don't know anyone, apart from Paul supporters, who would like to see a rematch. It wasn't a good fight, and it was disappointing.

I'm sorry, but where was he 'visibly tired'? The only time I recall see him visibly tired is when he just got beaten the **** out of in round 10, by Maidana, where he then had to practically run for the next two rounds.

Paul, for one, does not have that type of pressure, power and style. He was never going to come on strong. Last night's performance did show that, imo, because I along with many others thought it would be fairly easy for McCloskey, but it wasn't. He himself was tired down the stretch.

In fairness Laz, McCloskey showed plenty of pressure and power last night. A big strong lads like Prescott doesn't go backwards for no reason. I don't know why anyone thought this would be an easy fight for McCloskey- Prescott is a world class opponent. I don't mean to sound like a smart arse but Khan and Frank thought Prescott would be an easy fight and look what happened there.

 

I dont want a rematch between them unless mcclosky beats maidana and thats just to get rid of the "super" WBA title. all im saying is IF he did get a rematch imo it would be justified

 

A rematch? For what? So Prescott can face more injustice again? No thanks.

Prescott should stay away from fighting in Britiain if he wants to save his career. He'll be robbed again.

The Difference there is That McCloskey was making Khan miss, whilst Prescott was catching McCloskey which makes a big difference down the line

 

As for a rematch , why not it was a tough close fight, end of.

 

I didn't see that, tbh. He looked alright. It was more his heart which got him through.

They thought it would be easy because a guy like Mitchell, outboxed him with ease. Prescott isn't world class. I don't know where people are getting this from. I was hearing how Eddie Hearn and Team Paul were saying they just beat a world class opponent. How exactly is Prescott world class?

With the Khan thing, they went in with an opponent no one knew anything about. Wrong game plan, wrong everything. Beating Khan on that night never made him World class.

:huh He made Prescott miss as well. What, so you're saying Khan never caught McCloskey? He caught him plenty of times, but also missed plenty of times. It didn't indicate that Paul was going to come on strong at all.
