    Based on everything.

    Their amateur careers.

    Their early professional careers.

All that Lennox Lewis achieved in his professional career.

All that Vitali has achieved in his career - and at 40 years old - could still achieve more.

Their height and power and jabs and ability.

And of course - their infamous - cut face - fight night - when one legend fought a future legend - when Lennox behind and rocked and hurt on several occassions - prevailed on cuts - while the feeling was - Vitali had the best of the argument......persuading Lennox to retire rather than be put through hell again.

In this exclusive poll - we will find out who we believe is / was the greatest heavyweight........

    Lennox or Vitali ?

    Lennox's resume >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Vitali's resume.

H2H. We know the answer to that too.

    2-0. To Lewis.

Vitali and it's not even close. Vitali only trained for 2 weeks for the Lewis fight, won every round and was gouged by Lewis thumb. Lewis was about to fall and they called the fight, should have gone to the score cards.

Lewis knocked out cold 2x by 2 bums, Vitaly never knocked out or down.

    2-0 to Vitali.

A proper answer - Lewis by a million miles. He beat him H2H, and he has a far, far better resume. The only thing Vitali has on him is a half decent beard.

I'd like someone to explain to me why they think Vitali is the better fighter.

Compare the Lewis from 1995-7 to Klitschko from 2002-4.... it's just no contest.

Lewis; and it is not even close. Vitali needs to become The Champ and hold the title a number of years before he even can be seriously considered a candidate to enter the debate.

:rofl One of the worst, most ill-informed posts of all time.

Lewis beat more big punchers than any Heavyweight champion. How is that debatable? He also avenged both of his losses. His era was far more stacked. He beat far bigger punchers and far better fighters than those he lost to, proving he was not that vulnerable a fighter. The likes of Mavrovic, Akinwande and Morrison are better than any of the wins on Vitali's record. Let alone Ruddock (KO2) Golota (KO1) Bruno (KO7) Tucker (UD12) PRIME BRIGGS (KO5) is far better than anything Vitali has and ddemonstrate his far superior ability. None of which are his biggest wins.

Vitali has hardly faced any punchers. Sanders had him honest for a little while, and Lewis had him badly rocked. Apart from that, no punchers of any note have landed on him. If he was in a stronger era, his 'never being knocked down' would hold much more weight. As it is, his chin isn't proven.

In a fight over the 12 round distance, Lewis ruined Vitalis face. It was not a six rounder. Lewis was past his best, in bad shape and Vitali was in his prime. Thumbless gloves and Lewis thumbed him? I think you'll find the most common argument is Lewis' inner hand did the work, or more specifically the laces on his glove.

Vitali's opposition=Terrible. He also retired with an injury against arguably the biggest non-puncher in Heavyweight history, Chris Byrd, a very good fighter but one that Vitali was comfortably beating.

    Do one mong :good

    lol obvious bias is obvious

When people bring out the chris bird fight as if it is something to be ashamed of (not threatening your long term career after dominating someone), u know where their bias lies

Odd, didn't seem too bothered about threatening his long term career with a hole in his face?

Everything you've spouted since your first post has been biased. What about all the FACTS I also posted.

    Lewis.

Vitali can never be the better heavyweight because his resume is paper thin.

However I see Vitali beating most heavyweights in Lewis resume.

    Vitali TKO Tua
    Vitali TKO old Tyson
    Vitali beats McCall by decision
    Vitali knocks out Morrison
    Vitali knocks out Rahman
    Vitali knocks out Mercer
    Vitali TKO Golota
    Vitali via decision Bowe.
Vitali - Holyfield, hard to predict but I'll take Vitali by decision

Just a shame the opposition isn't there for Vitali otherwise he could have easily broke the top 10.

Lewis will always go down as the better fighter simply because he beat the better fighters.I dont rate Lewis as high as most here seem to but he will always be above Klitschko.
That being said I think Klitschko would have beat him in if the rematch had happened.Annd would have been a nightmare for any version of Lewis.
