The first episode he had padding on both sides the last episode one side I think its to prevent rib injurys but if there is a body shot you can get off on Floyd its going to be Floyds left side there is an opening there the right side where the left hook would be delivered Floyd will catch that hook with his elbow and counter right back with the right uppercut
its not the same on the other side Floyd may catch the shot with his elbow but the way his hand is positioned its more open on that side especially when he leans over to his right to roll out of the way of the right hand

Hmm. If he's wearing it at one side now but was wearing both when he started camp, either he just took off one side right after sparring and was lazy to take off the other, or it could possibly mean that in sparring he only found the left side to be really vulnerable (probably due to stancing)

and because he has been previously injured on that side, if he somehow breaks a rib there the fight is off, it logical that he is protecting it.

Floyd won't get hit... the rib pad was an endorsement deal.

If he were 19 yeah then he could have surgery and it might be fixed. He's in his 30s, when you get an injury in your 30s it never heals. That is why most boxers have to retire.

Watch his Limo interview. He exposes and even brags about his injury. He's not always a smart person.

He wore the same thing for the Marquez fight and the Mosley fight. Nothing new.

It would explain his retirements though. I do think this fight is dangerous for him and I do expect fighters to go to his body and go after his rib. I do think he will still beat Ortiz but against Pacquiao this is a vulnerability which would be exploited to open him up.

I just saw the injury again. It is on his left side. That area where he had his rib injury is one of the few openings his shoulder roll guard has. He must have got caught with a big right.

There you go. It's a visible injury. Still I don't think Ortiz will be able to beat him because Ortiz has more weaknesses than him even if he has that weakness.

Ortiz is looking great in sparring, better than even in fact, and he has power, but I don't think he's world class yet.

By the way his rib looks like that because sometimes when bone heals it over compensates. I'm not a doctor but it's my speculation. I don't think hitting him on the rib is going to break it.

 Not really. Pac does not really throw a right hook to the body.... and that is not his strong suite.
