DISCLAIMER: My bad, if it's free, then I misunderstood the TS and I see nothing wrong with opting to watch a different fight for free if they're going to get similar enjoyment out of it.
I hope it DOES impacat ratings. I think the fight with Pac and Marquez is complete BS. Though I have Mayweather to beat Ortiz; it is a much more interesting and risky fight. Cain Vs JDS is a GREAT fight anyway. I am surprised they are putting that on as that is THE HW fight everyone is waiting to see. I can't believe that is a free Fox TV show. I wish boxing would do that from time to time. I am boxing through and through but I do watch and follow UFC and their marketing and strategy is sooo much better. Boxing WAKE UP.
Honestly, who else is Pac gonna fight? He probably should have fought JMM sooner, but I'd rather a guy whose going to fight his heart out end go out with a bang in a fight he's been chasing, than see Pacquiao beat on someone like Bradley, Berto, Williams, etc. I'm not a fan of PPV, but I feel boxing fans who appreciate the art would at least try and find the Tecate rebate, haha.
To be fair, the sport hasn't really been all that kind to its fans over the past two decades. But then, maybe I'm still a little bitter that I wasted 50 bucks to watch Tyson bite Holyfield's ear off.
I will be having a few friends over for the Pacquiao fight..So we'll watch a few mma fights before the big boxing match..If anything it might help theppv #s
Is MMA really that big in America to conflict with Pacquiao sales? No one gives a **** about it over here
I'd rather see a fight with Bradley, Berto or Williams. Marquez has no business at 147. Mayweather made that look like a sad sparring session of a guy making his pro debut and Marqeuz is a great fighter; a p4p fighter. He just isn't made for 147. Even if Pac beats Bradley, Berto or Williams...at least they are legit WW's. Ortiz proved he is ready for 147; Marquez...not so much. Berto is no walk in the park. Sure he has looked OK at times, but he is a very solid fighter. Basically the only fight that makes sense for either Mayweather or Pac...are each other. They are on a different plane in boxing and any fight outside of shooting up in weight to take on a challenge; since they are on different planes....is to fight each other. Martinez would gladly negotiate a weight and terms and I don't blame either for wanting any part of him as he is naturally 154 and now 160. But with all the juice manny shoots, he could easily make 154 for Martinez:rofl
Well I'd rather have a fighter with the right skills take his chances with the physical preparation than a fighter who is adjusted to the weight but has almost no chance at all in terms of their technical ability.
Yes. In NORTH AMERICA (including Canada and especially Canada) boxing is "dead." The only thing people talk about is MMA and it bugs the crap out of me. I do watch it but prefer boxing as it is a much deeper and established sport. In MMA you can train for 6 months on a TV show and become world champ. They TRIED that with Contender...didn't quite work out because there are so many levels in the sport. And on contender, the fighters actually had records and some were world ranked (especially Manfredo Jr). But ya...there is no "boxing" in America for the most part. I run an addiction programme and the psychologist that I work with trains BJJ and used to be a kickboxer. We always harass each other about the better sport. We both are fan boys of each respected sport. He will say: "who is the HW champ? Is there one? How many belts are there?" OR he will say "Hey Nub Nubly, how are those undercards going to look on that PPV?" Sadly, he and millions of others watched Mayweather Vs DLH and that furthered "man boxing sucks."
umm...ya cuz that really worked out for him against Mayweather. Please this fight is garbage. And to say those fighters don't have skills is ******ed. Wow PW lost against Martinez....that isn't to say that would happen against Pac Man. Martinez is a freaking BEAST. Nuff Said.
