I thought this rib injury was old news. I always call the lump the alien from space balls.

Yeah, I peeped that, too, but you never know, during that bull**** on the pads, Roger might slip up a tap those 34yr old ribs. I'm glad to see that Garcia picked up on that foul elbow **** Floyd likes to pull in his fights and I hope they make DAMN sure the ref watches for it. Ortiz's camp is doing their homework while Floyd's being serenaded by Ray J, prepping for their sex tape after this fight, flashing his $$$$ around.

if I were Garcia I wouldnt even bring it to the refs attention, Honestly I would think to myself I have a southpaw who has a nice right uppercut, let Floyd push my man off with that elbow once he creates that hole Ortiz just needs to fill it with that right lead uppercut and follow up with the right hook...

I noticed the padding too. I recall it being on both sides.
He has been injured in the ribs, and that could be the reason for the padding.
It could be there just incase. Boxers tend to where padding when sparing why risk an injury? Most guys at the very least use head gear with some kind of face protection.
Also we don't really see Mayweather spare. The padding could be weights to help him build strength.

ortiz' camp should take note of this. is this really a rib injury or just an excess mass?

depending on how old that picture is to, but if thats recent I can tell you that it looks exactly like a rib was broken and is now in the healing stage, when my ribs were broken what ended up happening about a month later is I got three bumps that formed on each of the ribs it was like a tumor or something...

I went into the Drs and he told me thats just what the healing process looks like. its basicly the calcium building back up on the bones...

So if thats recent thats not the side of the body you want to have that on when you have a southpaw who will throw right hooks to your body.

Yes I noticed, but if his ribs were really hurt, he wouldn't even be wearing that on camera, and the fight would be postponed. Hoping to sucker Ortiz into throwing right hooks low, so Floyd can counter with left hooks high, that is all he is doing.

i see. it would be a good investment for ortiz to work on it even if it's fully healed physically, floyd would still be wary of this part of his body. floyd utilizes the high-guard more than the shoulder roll when matched-up against southpaws, would this make it easier for ortiz to target that area?

Where did that photo come from how recent is it, and if its recent its not fully healed it takes anywhere from six months to a year for it to fully heal....
I wouldnt just target that area I would target his left shoulder with that right jab, I would have Ortiz jab that shoulder to **** up that shoulder, sooner or later it will give and when it does you have a one handed fighter in front of you and thats when you switch gears and go after that rib...
