Once Haye stepped into the ring with Wlad, he quickly realized...

That he had underestimated his footwork, handspeed, and power.

He quickly realized that his only shot at winning was not to crash in and bang with Wlad, but to stay just out of his range and force him to make a mistake and wait for an opening where he could possibly hurt him with a big shot.

    So he waited...

    and he waited...

    and he waited...

    but that opening never came.

I don't buy the whole broken toe excuse, although I realize it could hamper his movement. But I don't think anyone can really objectively accuse him of not trying to win. He realized that if he tried to be more aggressive, he would end up just like Adamek did last night. Waiting for a Wlad mistake was the only thing he could physically do to have even the slightest shot at winning.

Yup. As soon as he was in the ring and Wlad marched across and cut it off it became very real for him, HOWEVER he still coped really well with it

My rating of him is determined by how highly I rate Wlad, and I expected Haye to take punch after punch after punch and not be able to slip them

He was brilliant athletically and it was extremely hard for Wlad to hit him

I went in to the fight with a grin on my face (I was watching it with someone who was sure Haye was going to KTFO Wlad) knowing Wlad would dominate him

And at the end of it I had been impressed by some of the things Haye showed

Whatever Haye's plan was he did not seem able to execute it and credit has to go to Wlad for that.

He fell into the trap a lot of people do with Wlad - trying to land one big punch

He doesn't stand up well to a barrage of punches

But I don't think his chin is that bad, just his mentality when being hit, seems to lose his balance, composure n everything

I have known this for a while. But then again, neither does Haye. They were both it with pretty good shots, and neither buckled.

Wlad did appear a little dazed in Round 12 though.

Don't get me wrong Wlad can't take decent successive shots very well at all, but you can't really expect to get him out of there with one, problem is as soon as you DO hit him with that one, he will back off and /or hold (see vs Haye round 12)

i didnt think he was dazed i just think thats what he does when hes hit..he knows hes dangerous so hold is what he was always gona do if tagged...like vidic said i think he always had a balance issue and used to panic..now he dosnt under manny..i personly think hes took better shots off other fighters than haye and they also didnt faze him..:good

Of course people are going to specualte based on what they observe.

What? Would you rather me say "Haye tried to suck Wlad's dick?"

agreed..i acutally think peter hit him with a crackin shot on a break (peter 2) and it didnt even fizz on him just needs to keep on improving that mental problem he has and he would be even better i think

I do actually think he was dazed in the 12th, you can tell by the difference in reactions from when he was hit earlier in the fight and just opened up on Haye, Haye hit him with a right, then Wlad simply backed him up and unloaded (landed a left, right, hook to the 'chest' and a hook to the head) after which Haye smiled and said 'come on'

In the 12th he got hit and instantly tried to smother Haye, had him in a headlock for about 10 seconds lol.

wlad hit him with a huge right in round 4 or 5 and I was impressed with haye actually staying up.
