Lets say they both met up when they were elite 135 pounders, who would win??? It would be an exciting fight with so much power, speed athletisism on display. Pretty Boy Floyd was an offensive fighter at this weight also. So Who wins??
My bad for thinking Floyd's superior timing, ring IQ, defense, footwork, jab and boxing ability would be able to defeat Mosley. Speed is about even I'd say though and power and chin goes to Mosley obviously
At 135 Mosley for sure. People dont realize how much Shane fell off after about 35 years old.... yet he was still one of the best fighters in the world. Shane at lightweight was an unstoppable killing machine.
Yeah? Who'd he beat again? Floyd by UD. Shane was more of a physical presence at Lightweight. He was still the same plan A fighter. The fight would be more competitive early on before Floyd legitimately took the play away from Shane in the mid to late rounds, instead of Shane taking the play away from himself.
Floyd by UD. But it would be a very tough fight. At 147 when Mosley first moved up, that would be a Mosley win IMO.
Mosley isn't as good when he faces pure boxers as when he faces brawlers that he can use his superior athletic ability and hand speed against. Mosley wouldn't be the superior athlete, but Mayweather would be the superior boxer. Mayweather would be able to land first on Mosley while most guys at 135 weren't able to. Mayweather offer'd Mosley this fight when he was the champ at 130 and Mosley was the champ at 135 but for what ever reason it didn't happen.
He had 4 fights there. One of which he arguably lost, two in which he wasn't very impressive, and the other against a can. He beats Shane, still (based on styles and the fact that Shane just lacked any real versatility), but Floyd's stint at 135 was easily his least impressive.
