I'm against it but if it was to happen I could stomach a 215lbs super-cruiser division.

Not really, big boxers at about 220 pounds can cut weight down to crusierweight if they want.

    The answer is still no....

Change the cruiserweights weight range... adding yet another weightclass is ******ed.

Great idea! We will have 5-6 super heavies fighting for interim, regular and super championships for every alphabet org (let's add more of them too!!!). Everybody is a champion and every bout is a championship fight. We can all gather in circle and sing kumbaya.

  7. No one forced Adamek and Haye tp move up. They knew what they were getting into from the begginnning. Adamek vs Klitschko was not an embarrasment though. It has nothing to do with size. If Tyson was fighting today at 218,he could still kill half of these European robots. It has less to do with weight and height and more to do with skill and heart etc. Think about how many times smaller guys beat bigger guys! Also, I think one day in the not to distant future,we will see a 6'2/225 pound champion in the heavyweight division. George Foreman fighting at 212 pounds would murder someone still today. Joe Louis,Max Baer,Sonny Liston would turn Wlad Klitschko's lights out. Power dosent care how big you are and some smaller guys can really bang. A super heavyweight division also would downgrade all of the former heavyweight champions accomplishments. No one mentions Adamek's win over guys bigger than Vitali like Mcbride and Grant. It is not about size but about skill. Vitali was better than Adamek so he beat him. Saying that Vitali only won because he is bigger is an insult to him.
    Denis Boytsov? Tor Hamer?

So Tye Fields, Michael Grant, Alexander Dimetrenko, Julius Long, Kevin McBride to name a few, would be moved to Super Heavyweight so they won't hurt a regular HW?

Maybe we should have a super tall basketball league in the NBA too!

I think even a 215 division would create a lot of problems. Even someone Wladimir's size could train down to 235 and cut weight down to 215. Brock Lesner would cut 25 pounds of weight to meet the 265 weight limit in the ufc. Big guys can cut weight a lot easier they may even be able to cut 30 pounds without to much problem.

Why would they give up the HW crown to move down?

What it would do however is allow guys to become comfortable at 215, or even 220 for a long period so that if they move up to challenge for the title moving back down wouldn't be too much of a problem.

I don't think Wladimir would move down but maybe someone his size might.

I think a lot of guys that could move down to 215 would, in a case like we have now in the heavyweight division. You don't see many Heavyweights these days under 220 pounds in the heavyweight division because they are mostly all cutting weight down to cruiserweight. Imo you would not have many heavyweights under 235 pounds fighting at heavyweight if there was a division 215 and under. I think it would leave the heavyweight division far weaker then it is now.

Where were all these people who are calling for a super heavy division when Lewis was fighting smaller fighters, or how about Ali, at 6 feet 3 inches tall fighting Quarry who was only 5 feet 10 inches tall?

I was always opposed to the Super Heavyweight idea, but I'm beginning think it might make sense. Most of Vitali's fights have been utterly pointless, just a huge superhuman hulk beating the **** out of more normal size heavweights. Maybe we should move cruisers to 210, making it easier for some guys to make weight. Still, ego and money would drive them to fight the behemoths. For the sake of his own legacy, Vitali should fight guys like Valuev, Helenius, Fury, etc, just so in the end no one can accuse him of always beating up little guys. 'Cause right now, that's what he's doing.
