Can you imagine a ref who actually tells Wlad to cut that **** out, right from the beginning of the fight? And who penalizes him for the repeated violations?

It definitely mkes him a lot more vulnerable if the refs just...

    follow the rules. :huh

I have already admitted that he lost, and deserved to lose...

But don't try to act as if Wlad doesn't constantly get away with some real bull****.

Right, Haye had to take a risk employing a strategy he was uncomfortable with and one which could've gotten him KOed. You make a good point, but where we disagree is probably that I think less of Wlad than you do which is why I think he still could have won. I also think the actual fight supports my case despite Haye's lack of skills/tools in employing such a strategy. It's not his style, but it was basically his only chance.

Good point, I agree. But I think it goes both ways. Basically, Haye's tactic were less impressive than Wlad's athleticism as far as I'm concerned.

You think he was poisoned against Brewster by Don King?

Good post. Yeah, way easier said than done. At the same time, it was his still his best hope. However daring/risky/difficult.

Some fighters find it easier altering their style. Larry Merchant said Gatti went from a brawler to a boxer back to a brawler. Never on a world class level, though.
