Chillin' Charley Riley was another tough man in and out of the ring who fought while blind in one eye. He was shot, had tuberculosis and was almost killed by a train. Enough bad luck for any one man, but he came through the misfortunes.

Not sure if I would call it brave or just being stupid but Erik Morales turning southpaw in the last round against Pacquiao in their first fight was pretty badass. Also, an old Morales fighting toe to toe with a huge puncher like Maidana with one eye and was able to make the fight close.

Morales going southpaw against Pac when it was all on the line was breathtaking sporting theatre. Good pick.

I'm not sure that's bravery as such, but it's pure class, a showing of humanity, going above and beyond for your fellow man

In terms of heroic bravery, I don't think anyone can top Danny Williams' knockout when his right arm was completely destroyed and he was getting hammered because of it for the last few rounds.

Also, I have no idea how Ali managed to rise from his stool in the later rounds against Holmes, when he had the athleticism of an 80 year old... and still that dream of a 12 year old, to be champ. :-(
