Will Ortiz's record come to an end on this weekend?

    Victor Ortiz has a pretty impressive record of having knocked down every opponent he has ever faced. Sure he is pretty one demential, but it seems to be working for him. Obviously Mayweather isn't a come forward sloppy fighter like Maidana or Berto, but traditionally he does start slowly (Mosley round 2 for example). But he does have a pretty decent beard on him, and seems to recover quickly on the rare occasions when he is hit flush.

    So, can Ortiz continue his impressive statistic of knocking down every opponent he has fought?

    I honestly don't see Ortiz winning the fight. He is far too open and not good enough defensively to atop Maywether running away with a points victory (personally I think Floyd breaks his heart with the constant right hand through the middle and stops him by the 10th). But does he knock Money May on his arse? Incidentally, Ortiz is 6/1 to stop Mayweather at any time. I wonder what the odds are for him to stop Mayweather in the first three

    i can see him putting mayweather on his arse and as soon as he does it's game over and Floyd wont make that same mistake twice

    If Mayweather does not get dropped it will show a lot.

    Considering he gets hit cleaner by southpaws I think he will get decked.

    not yet, probably just watch at home with a few cans, u watching at home or do u watch with yankie friends. where in England were u from in u don't mind me asking

    No. Zab is a better, faster and, arguably, harder hitting southpaw, and the kd he scored was one of the most minor I've ever seen.

    Not at all IMO. Floyd is so many levels above it's unreal.

    I think the thing about a fighter like Ortiz is that though I dont want to label him one dimensional he will never be able to make as many adjustments as Mayweather.

    I would say like Shane you get one chance to hit floyd with a real full blooded shot if you are lucky and able to even work out that one opening and if you dont knock him unconscious then for a fighter of Ortiz's calibre thats goodnight.

    Floyd will then make sure he doesnt make that same mistake again he wil adjust he will tease you to throw that shot again and hit you hard. He will adjust his defence and probe to see how you have (if at all) adjusted your offence. Ortiz im afraid will be out the fight before he realises he is out the fight.

    I am from north of the border. I'll be watching it at home. I was thinking about going to see it at the cinema (3-D) or Hooters :hooters but I'm on call and might have to go into work on Sunday:mad:

    Zab had the speed and movement to catch Floyd in one of those rare moments he's off balance. Ortiz does not have those physical gifts but I think he has a similar mentality to Zab.

    He also doesn't have the pop and skill that even old, shot Mosley does to land that right hand. The look at the fact that Ortiz can't jab for **** and it's pretty much all over for Ortiz.

    He lacks any of the tools you need to beat Mayweather.

    All that said, if he managed to dump Floyd on the canvas, it'd be very impressive. And then Floyd would batter the **** out of him.

    I think he does have the power certainly to get Floyd's attention early on. But like a few have said, if, and that's a big if, Ortiz does put him on his arse, he certainly isn't good enough to follow it up and force the stoppage (he couldnt do it to peterson). Floyd would get to his feet, hold on, and then kick **** out of Ortiz. I think it would certainly make Mayweather more aggressive coming down the stretch.
