pretty much robert has said vic became to needy, and a ****en diva in camp so he cut him loose...i remember talking to robert about 4 years ago, and he told me vic had already started giving them problems with his attitude, and lack of training etc etc...

on 24/7 he said he was gonna take the day off even though danny didnt like the idea...." with all do respect coach, i'm taking a day off"

now, danny does not live boxing how robert does, and is obviously more lenient.....but could this be what robert was talking about ? and could all the stories about vic be true ? storied that come outta bam bams and roberts mouths....

idk what to make of it, but when you're facing the biggest fight of your career, millions of dollars, how can you disrespect your coach like that ???

To be fair, he did say "with all due respect" before he informed his trainer that he was going to disregard his wishes so that he could go fishing.

Not saying you're definitely wrong, but you could be reading to much into it. Victor Ortiz is a bit like Amir Khan, in the sense that they're very easy to misconstrue when you don't read in-between the lines of what they say. They're not the best at conveying their thoughts, and Victor, in all likelihood, probably wasn't being disrespectful.

However, from reading up on his history, you do get the impression that Victor is somewhat of a diva. According to Robert's camp, the break-up was due to Victor wanting Robert all to himself. He apparantly didn't like the idea of him training other fighters, which is why he settled for Danny - a truck driver - who didn't mind coaching him only. This is only one side of the story, though.

And I've always been under the impression that taking a day out to relax a week or two before a fight, is normal. Roach normally asks his fighters to do this.

I don't think robert comes off as a liar just a bit more outgoing than his bro, danny seems more reserved, a personality that would be more compatible with Ortiz personality that some call"white wash" as oppose to Rios more wild characteristics

With all due respect, I think it does. Sometimes, a man just needs to go fishing.

I'm confused. I thought this guy was a young, hungry lion. When did he turn into a tree?

Honestly Freddy more fighters take time off like that than you realize, its part of the mental aspect of the game.

I could care less about what Bitter Robert has to say about Ortiz and perhaps Ortiz needed more attention than what Robert was giving him so what each fighter is different and some do need more attention than others Danny seemed to be the better fit and so far its been working for them so who gives a **** what Robert has to say he has his own fighters to think about stop trying to boast your **** by degrading what you lost

I think if Danny was dissatisfied with his work, he wouldn't have let him.

Could be.....at the end of the day you as a fighter have to have trust and faith in your coach. If he doesn't think "going fishing" is something that will do him any good....Vic should have respected his trainers wishes and sucked it up. But Vic is a grown man and he has a relationship with Danny that maybe allows for more flexibility. I know PAC sometimes goes against Freddie but usually its about where camp is going to be held and if he should or shouldn't be playing bball after work!
