Just how good is Carl Froch?

He's a bit delusional, but all in all he's a tough, hard-nosed fighter with considerable skill and good power. He doesn't stand out in any one aspect, but he is a very well rounded fighter. I think when it's all said and done he will finish his career at the 4-5 loss mark.

Froch makes his fights difficult for himself because he wants to have a fan pleasing style. He could always just keep his hands up, use his height, and his jab, and his fights would all have been dominating Abraham type performances.

He is a capable boxer, but he prefers to slug because it's more fan friendly.

In the end he should keep doing what hes doing, entertain the fans when he can afford to do so, and slug when he's fighting the sort of fighter he can afford to slug with.

Against Ward he will have to box well but also slug at times. This is going to be his toughest fight but it also will be Ward's toughest fight and it will be career defining for both. I expect them to fight more than once in their career also.

 

I think his technical boxing ability is underrated quite often. The man is a very capable boxer when he fights that way.

 

i love Froch he has style built for speed but hes not fast!! and it works. has good jab and decent power seems able to walk through certain fighters shots as well. hel be missed when hes gone.

if calzaghe had Frochs drive and ambition hed be an actual atg

Froch actually has a very stiff fast long Wlad like jab. Wlad isn't very fast either but you see how difficult it is for fighters to deal with a jab, especially untelegraphed.


The reason it's difficult to deal with the jab is because you can't time the jab easily, it's also the quickest punch so even a jab from a slow hand fighter is going to be a fast punch, and if they have long arms and a good chin behind that jab it's a challenge to get inside.

Ward is going to have great difficulty getting past Froch's jab if Froch uses it correctly. Wlad will want to keep the fight at close range because he can't win a jabbing contest with Froch.

Ward gets stick on here mostly by british calzaghe fans for some reason. but hes a good fighter adept at closing the distance and throwing combos to head and body,

No I'm saying Froch's jab is as good as Wlad's. I'm not saying Froch would fight Wlad. I'm saying Froch should use the Wlad Jab against Ward.

Haggler was a killer unlike Froch who hasent killed anyone. Froch has made his way int he fight game but being apart of the Super 6 has allowed TV to get behind him too.. We wouldn't like Froch if we didn't see that big bird beak on TV talking Crazy all the time or hanging out with his hot wife.. TV exposure has help Froch as well.. he is not a fighter who says going to Training camp is like Going to Jail.. He doesn't have the Hunger that Haggler had.. bad comparison.. NEXT...!:rasta

 

Froch gets sweated cause he is white.
I hate stuff like that he is a cool fighter just nothing that great.
You have to respect his attitude and integrity to the sport but skill
wise he is a very solid B level boxer.

 

I like Froch and mostly I'd say he's at least competitive in the grand scheme of SMWs, which is a pretty shallow, new division, relatively.
