According to Floyd Mayweather Jesse Vargas 'is the future of boxing'. Obviously he is going to hype his own fighter, but I would be interested to hear what your assessment is of Vargas and how far do you think he can go?

He could be. Not many seem to think that Ortiz, Berto, Rios, can be that next guy. Gamboa has impressed many, but for some reason Mr. Arum doesn't seem to think the world is behind him. Mayweather Jr, Pacquaio, Martinez, Mosley, Cotto are all on the latter stages of their careers.

Only *****s would believe that **** cause whatever Floyd says they all believe it. Heck if Floyd says he's the son of god they'd all kneel to him :-(

Floyd was saying if Khan fights and beats Vargas next then he would give Khan a fight. Is he purely trying to cash in on Vargas or does really think Vargas is good enough (at this stage) to beat Khan?

Good points, none of those guys, with the exception of Gamboa, really stand out and like you say the other list of fighters are at the latter stages of their careers.

What other US based fighters are coming through and look like they might be special fighters?

What fights were they? I have yet to see any of Vargas, so have a bit of catching up to do on youtube, but a few pointers would be good...

The only reason I know about Vargas is because he was involved in that infamous match where his opponent kissed him while they were clinching, and Vargas was furious and slugged him.

Don't see it myself. He's talented but flawed, the Lopez fight will be interesting because Lopez is underrated. I wouldn't be surprised if he beat Vargas tbh.

Funny stuff from Lampley. I saw this kid get a gift decision recently (don't recall opponents name) and I'm very doubtful he becomes a world champ unless he's carefully guided to one like Canelo.

Well, can we all agree that he will have had an extremely legitimate year if he clearly defeats Josesito?

Harris quitting after one, Estrada beautiful KO 2...
