Bellew would be best drawing Cleverly onto him and lulling him into mistakes. I don't think obliging Clev is the right thing to do..... Nathan overwhelms opposition with volume and being able to land more punches on them than they land on him - he's all heart and engine. Like most fighters both Bellew and Cleverly make more mistakes and leave themselves more open when coming forward, and in rounds 4-8 of the first McKenzie fight I think Bellew boxed superbly, albeit against an average opponent. If he can find that form, establish the jab and keep Clev's output down using movement.... given that he takes a couple of rounds to get going with the weight etc the last thing he wants to do is come in all guns blazing. Though that's what I think he'll do, won't be able to help himself.
Like I say fair dues, hands up on being wrong like. I always pictured him as drug dealer after his boxing careers over. Out of order I know but I can't take to anyone who comes across as much of as a **** he does.
So Vince was apparently punching himself in the face? :think Supposedly without being tremendously steamin'?
To be fair, you have to give respect to Cleverlys old man. He was getting wound up, and stood up for himself. As for the police call, Cleverly is in there with a load of scousers intimidating them, its a bit uncalled IMO & he was probably only worried for his old mans safety. I like Bellew, but him & his crew should give Cleverly a bit of respect, as hes coming to Liverpool to defend his title. No need for acting like ****s & trying to upset Cleverlys old man... TBH in Janes interview with Nathan after the madness I thought he came accross really well, likeable & fired up. Bellew could be in danger of becoming the bad guy here if him & his cronies keep this behaviour up... As for Couch, could she be anymore on Bellews side? If Nathan or his dad are reading, watch her. Shes a wolf in sheeps clothing.
She's a wolf in dog's clothing! The scouser laughing as Clev's dad lost it was a ****, you can't defend that. You shoudn't mess with a guy's family, that goes beyond trash talking. Having said that, he shouldn't be in Cleverly's corner if he's that easily wound up.
Totally agree about the guy laughing in front of the camera, it all seemed just a bit TOO much. Let Tony & Nathan go at it, but all these other ****s getting involved & Jane Couch kissing their arses by calling them the scouse mafia & making out Clevs dad was a moron for losing the rag? It was all a bit TOO much if you ask me, Nathan handled it well though, credit to the lad.
Why people feel the need to critisise Bellew's performance against McKenzie second time 'round I can't fathom. People's entertainment wasn't at the forefront of his mind, get over it. Anyways, LoungeTalk, Bellew's a ****ing Scouser.
lol gullible ****ers on here, bellews milking it for all its worth hes a nobody and hes cashing out on his last meal ticket, dont be shocked if he's the one on the back foot trying to use his new found boxing skills ala mckenzie rematch
Bellew, eh? Dick. Hope he enjoys the occasion, 'cause I suspect he'll never be in a fight of this magnitude again.
Spoke to a friend of mine who is a journalist who was at the PC and he said the reason the police were called was because there were no security at the PC.With the history of the 2 boxers not one single person was there to keep them apart or keep security. Bellew mates were let into the PC and threatened Vince Cleverly. Not going to repeat what they said but if it happened in a pub or the street they would have been arested without a doubt. Sombody at Frank ****** boxing ****ed up big time.My mate said it was the worse organised PC he has ever been to.
He's admitted himself that it's an act. Away from boxing he's a family man, quite laidback. He sees 'Bomber' as a persona, and he sounds off to generate interest in fights.
