He's excellent. Dirrell clearly beat him, but Dirrell is both prodigiously talented as well as a terrible style match-up for Carl. Kessler beat him as well, but if they rematch I'd heavily back Froch to win by stoppage. I don't know what was wrong with Froch in that fight, but something was, he just didn't fight like himself. He's a better fighter than Kessler. Outwith those two relatively poor performances, Froch has looked extremely effective most of the time. His performance against Glen Johnson was very very good, that meant something to me as I rate Johnson. I doubt if Froch can beat Ward, but he's a cracking fighter anyway (though I do think his chin gets overrated a lot, guy gets visibly hurt on a regular basis).
At first I disliked Froch, but his performances in the ring turned me into a fan. Froch is good for boxing.
In team's sports theres a saying that good teams always find a way to win. Even if it was not always pretty Froch did found a way to win, so even as an underdog, he is much alive.
I haven't looked up the other posts to be honest. I'll reply to this one and call it a night. "Big up" as #2?? Who the hell do you want Mr #2 of Now to be?!?? And why does it matter? You missed the whole point. Old Joe beat prime Kessler and that's completely fine, it doesn't make today's SMW's THAT MUCH FVCKIN WORSE. Resume wise, there's a gap. And that's normal. How many of them fight more than twice a year? As I've mentioned in similar threads, the SMW resumes i.e. 'this guy beat this 2-time super champ so he's automatically of better quality' will look a lot better from your standpoint in 2, 3 years maybe. Wasn't as "popular"? WTF are you drunk bailey?? I said unifications nowadays are tougher, not more popular!!!!?!??!? Calzaghe-Lacy? Joke, Lacy was teh hype job. Kessler-Beyer? Joke, Beyer was a sacrificial lamb in there. Calzaghe-Kessler? Now we talkin. But that's one in what, 3-4 years in the division? Ahead of us is 3 of the top 4 with belts, those precious belts you love so much when talking resumes, combined with all 'em 4 wanting a piece of one another. Showtime is onboard. And yes, that's over the next 2-3 years - build 'em up resumes... I'm sure accusations, that aim at getting everyone on ESB to agree that Calzaghe was the ultimate at 168, will then come flying stating everyone is Joe's leftovers, all leftovers I'm sayin all leftovaaaars... ...gave that title back for the tournament's own good. Or because he was forced to i.e. business decision. Ward has more defensive talent and all around versatility than anyone at SMW in 2005. See, I said it. I didn't say 'punch volume' or even accuracy, or even whatever the fvck you personally thought Calzaghe was best at... Ward, Bute, Froch, Kessler if he hangs around, possibly Dirrell if Showtime's executives all get their dikks sucked by the right people, Johnson if he doesn't retire in 2-3 fights and goes for a 'Nard, all will be in major fights. There's a number of young guns coming up as well, I'm hoping Kid Chocolate reverts back to 168 after he builds up some muscle. DeGale, Groves, Ant. Dirrell etc won't make bad opponents for the losers of the above mentioned big 4. And... and... that's to Froch's discredit?!? If difficulties encountered by his team contract wise earlier on (not to say he refused an IBF eliminator vs Bute) and if champs being injured (+ circumstances we all know) were to factor in, would you still downplay his precious championships -ask Gamboa - when compared with whatever 2-time champ (Beyer?) you could pull from 04-05? Here's two rants of mine on Markus Beyer: Originally Posted by drozzy PIECE. OF. ****. Total disrespect intended. Was a fan of Lucas' growing up, and this ******* benefited from **** cards. Hey, Beyer got KD 3 times in 2 fights vs Green... that's probably why Catley finished him. And Catley wasn't anything special. I hate Markus Beyer. You "big up" Bute in some threads and now choose to accuse him of.. what exactly? Almost getting KO'ed? Ya ok. Was it meant to be a walk in the park, ring #2 (or was it #1?) vs ring #3? Sure was the second time around. And that's what I think proves Bute's adaptability -to brawlers, mind you. Ward, even Froch are totally different cans of worms. BOXREC POWAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :mj You go ahead and refute my vBallsack. :smoke Brinkley? Mandatory. A sh1tty mandatory, he's barely low low top 15 material. Magee? Showtime's pick, and for some people the best pick to no avail. Reid was awesome, but isn't relevant when assessing today's SMW's. 2005 Reid wasn't 1998 Reid. Period. Nice 113-112 card in the Reid-Magee fight btw, considering Magee tasted the canvas 4 times. 2013 Ward & Bute's might say different. Vanderpool -was his second last fight, which yes he lost by KO. Guess what, his last fight was vs Berrio and he lost by KO. Oh btw this was for a VACANT fvckin title, way to go. Berrio was later beat by Bute via KO. Tsypko -who only won a close SD vs Magee in Germany. You remember Bozic? That guy AA wanted to slaughter in his off-S6 fight? That's who Tsypko fought before Lacy. And before that, he lost to famous Jackson Chanet who later lost by KO to Mger Mkrtchyan. A major fight in 2006, I'm sure. Sheika -the same Sheika who lost twice to already-beaten-3-times Pemberton, and who was fighting the likes of 31-12-2 Etianne Whitaker 7 months before fighting Lacy. Pemberton -good win, the man's second last payday nonetheless. Reid -well it wasn't completely Reid in that fight now was it? He got frustrated A LOT and looked outclassed in front of a... straight line, B/C level puncher? What does that say about 2005 Reid? Manfredo -one of Calzaghe's many, many leftovers. Good morning bailey :hi:
Right now, relative to things, perhaps not, but in the annals of time considering it only really got going 20 or 30 years ago, yes.
Froch has impressed the hell out of me just for making it this far in the Super 6. I never saw that coming. But I've been picking Ward to win from the beginning. I predict Ward is gonna make Froch look as lost as Dirrell did.
To be fair, you are talking some nonesense there lad. You obviously know absolutely nothing about Froch's discipline and dedication. For example: He walks around marginally higher than his fight weight, as he is naturally built for this weight, but does not 'balloon' in between fights. He eats only organically grown and raised vegetables and meats, and is an utterly insane trainer. He begins camp long before every fight, and is stupidly in shape all the time. He took and obtained a degree in sports psychology, as he felt it would be of benefit to him. He will do anything and everything to gain an edge, and runs further and faster than the young boxers he trains with. In short, he makes Hagler look like a sloth when it comes to fitness and dedication. Naturally, Hagler is a very well respected atg, and rightly so, but you can count on the fingers of one hand the boxers who have put more into natural fitness and absolute professionalism than Froch, in the last century. He's a psychpathic beast who will, I assure you, be far, far too much for Ward to handle. Froch by ko in the last 4 rounds.
 Nice info. I sure hope Froch ko's Ward, I will be celebrating for a week! I don't see it happening, though, Ward probably wins another ugly decision. :verysad Btw, why the hell haven't you ever posted before since you've been here since 2009? :blood
:rofl slap yourself if you even think Froch dedication/disipline is even in the park of Hagler.. Helll Hagler is an ATG.. Period... Haven't seen anyone on his level yet.. Froch is nice.. I wil give him that.. but if he was anything like Hagler he would destory/punish his opponents.. and not gloat about it.. one thing Hagler never did was make excuses.. After the Kesller loss Froch had the nerve to say the Volcano, I fought in Denmark.. and a slew of other excuses... Haglar had pride.. No excuses Blue collar work ethic.. Don't ever confuse that with Froch's arrogance.. Understand this.. This is no knock on Froch.. its a knock on all those comparing him to Haglar..:deal By the way I have never seen Hagler get hit with sucka right hands clean from a fighter 8 years his senior... Hagler/Froch.. not in the same sentence, planet... Get it out of your head.. :hi:
He is a good fighter, good chin, extra amount of power in either hand, fit and strong at 168 pounds, he can box as well... But don't make him what he is not, he is not an excellent fighter, a top-class technician, he is not the smartest out there and he can be and was clearly defeated before.
