The big difference I see between Hatton and Ortiz is that Ortiz will come in behind a tight guard and a strong jab, Hatton tended to rush in with hooks and little else.

I did have Mayweather ahead in the fight , but I didnt have it as wide as the judges , I would say on neutral ground Mayweather would have been two rounds ahead. With a possible 10 - 8 in the 8th.

Which was astonishing. I thought Hatton only won one round that night, and that was the fifth round.

I thought this was a pretty easy fight for Floyd, once he began to put his punches together, because Hatton kept making the same mistakes over and over.

    :huh

Ortiz is pretty easy to find and doesn't have a jab to speak of.

Hatton won about 3-4 rounds at least in that one. He nearly scored a flash KD in round 1 as well, like he did against Collazo becasue the angles he could get weight behind a punch from were suprising even to Mayweather.

Cortez played a massive part in that fight. I expect Ortiz to have simlar success, and fight at a high pace as well tbh, maybe do as well as Hatton did early and then get picked apart later possibly with out getting stopped, but again the GBP owned Cortez will be just too much to over come and trust me GBP want Mayweather to win.

He maybe easy to find , but he carries his hands higher than Hatton and definately has a better jab no question.

    Mayweather tripped over Ricky's foot...

And the Collazo knockdown came at a time when Hatton was holding him behind the head and landed a punch before Collazo could regain his balance.

On another note Mayweather did more holding in the first 6 rounds than Hatton , Ruiz and Hopkins have done in their whole careers.

    unbelieveable.

Use all the damn smilies you want. Still doesn't change reality.

Your right about that. Ortiz is also a bit bigger than Hatton. The Berto fight was a great preparation for Floyd as well really. One the Hatton had which Ortiz doesn't though is really really fast feet. I would say Hatton's foot speed was almost as good as Pacquio's tbh.

I think Ortiz would have beaten Hatton though because Hatton was never great against south paws even though they are of about the same quality.

    Hatton > Khan
    Khan > Ortiz
    Ortiz > Hatton

    If those had happend imo.

That's basically what happened. People act like Floyd did something special, but the truth is, Hatton has always been more hittable from range when he's not on your chest, and when Hatton started to tire in the mid rounds, the gap between them became bigger, and Mayweather started pick him off more and more from range. The KO came about because Ricky stopped trying to step off the line to attack Floyd, as he felt desperate after the point deduction, and came in attaching straight on the line, Floyd stepped off the line and bang!, that is essentially what happened.

All this BS about how Floyd did something extraordinary is just his fans eulogizing.

The points deduction happen when exactly? Why would he feel desperate with half the fight still to go? That excuse doesn't make any sense especially when hatton corner telling him he only a point or two down.:patsch

Hatton had one of the best wins of his career at 140 after he lost to Mayweather. He was never cut out to be a WW.

Fighting Pac was suicide, not draining to 140.

This is amazing, I don't see how even the ardent hatton fan can give him anything other than round 5, and if you watch that was because mayweather took that round off. The only credit Hatton deserves is he forced mayweather to work almost every round because of his ability to close the distance quickly.

He therefore made Mayweather look uncomfortable even though he was winning rounds.

I agree , it just shows how styles make fights.

Watch Ortiz in the latest 24 7 , I am concerned how Steve Forbes is countering him when on the ropes. I know the kid has a lot of spirit but Forbes aint no Mayweather.

I dont go for predictions , but if Floyd is anything like as quick as he was against Mosley I think the fight will be over by the 10th, that is unless Mayweather coasts in the final rounds.
