Peter, Chagaev, Adamek, Liakhovich. Recently all defeated but could make for good fights against each other. I know Haye could be added to this list as well but I just don't see him with his ego allowing himself to test himself against these dangerous opponents. I think we will see a match up with at least one of the above. Have a feeling that Helenius might take on Chagaev next to add another ex champ to his cv. Some good fights can certainly be made from these.

    I agree.
For a long time I was hoping the heavy weights would start mixing it up - independent of the Klitschkos.

Arreola v Liakhovich would be a great fight.
Chagaev v Solis would be interesting
Adamek v Solis would be a nice scrap.

Arreola vs. any of them would be good. Haye just acts like he is above fighting them. he has not even mentioned fighting anyone other than another Klitchko match. Question is does he deserve another shot?

No excuses for Chris losing that fight.
He's overweight for 99% of his fights.
Also, how do you know he was unmotivated? Because he lost? Handy excuse "oh that loss? Bah!! he was simply unmotivated".

Chris's record shouldn't reflect losses and losses but instead read as follows:
33 wins with 2 lapses in motivation

Adamek's defense is what took Chris out of the fight. If you watch closely, he didn't really land clean at all. He'd need to do more than be in shape and motivated to turn that fight into a victory.

Watch the replay, most of the shots that "landed" weren't clean at all or didn't land at all. It looked like it, especially in the heat of the moment, but most of the shots didn't land cleanly.

It's not an excuse. He's just saying he thinks a motivated and in shape Chris would beat Adamek. You're entitled to disagree if you'd like.

Don't Chagaev and Liahkovich have unfinished business? :huh I could swear they were in talks if not signed to meet on at least one occasion (maybe two) but can't find anything about it now after a few minutes of searching.

They were packaged together on a Universum card last year, leading many to speculate that a match between the two was in the pipeline. There may have been rumblings as early as 2007/8 as well.

Anyway, of all the "broken and discarded toys" at the contender level at heavyweight - these two squaring off would be near the top of my wish list.

That's the problem with boxing today and the heavyweight division esp that top contenders just dont want to fight each other unless there is a belt on the line. Just look at Vanes pulling a huge ***** move by ducking Angulo because "its too big a fight to happen right now and we should wait til both guys have titles and then make the fight" they said the same thing about Kirkland vs Angulo and look how that ended up. We couldve had a great fight against 2 undefeated top contenders instead they wanted to wait until they both got paper titles and then fight. So stupid. Gooves vs Degale should be the standard of what should happen in boxing. Also even with belt holders Gamboa vs Juanma got ruined because of greed and the fight wasnt big enough yet and now we'll probably never see it.

And I find this to be te case the most in the heavyweight division. There could be a lot of great match ups made but guys seem to wanna take the easy route to a championship by fighting old shot name fighters or unknown bums with high ABC rankings. Adamek vs Arreola was the last good fight between two top contending heavyweights with no title on the line..... and then look what happen Adamek fought bum after bum and used that Arreola win to carry him into a title fight over a year and 4 fights later. Its disgraceful it really is.

SPOT ON MAN. Fuken Great Post man!:good:good:good:deal

Hw division is not stacked on Good Fighters but still decent boxers but which makes it even worse is what you just said man! There could be Pretty good match ups where these guys just would fight each other and not getting title matches just handed to them. It would make the division so MUCH better if Prospects would start to fight against each other when they turning on credible contenders or more like becoming credible contenders after proving themselfes fighting each other when they are still rising, young guns.:deal

I would say you could put a decent card together similar to the recent Povetkin vs Chagaev + Helenius vs Liakhovich sure. Wouldn't be a bad nights entertainment.
