teacher's is so underrated. it has the best tast-quality-burn ratio IMO.

More underrated because of its 45% malt content and peaty goodness

It's the best cheaper speyside blend that's commonly available, but no great shakes in the grand scheme of things.

Think it uses Islay malts. Good day to day whisky, that Grants for some speyside variety

of course if I was going into a decent pub asking for a sipping whiskey I wouldn't have teacher's. but my teaching salary doesn't allow me to drink the high end stuff on a regular basis.

but walk into a supermarket and I genuinely think teacher's is the best they have.

Nah it's not overpriced at all

I hold out hope that your decision to start drinking Teachers was on the sole basis that you're a teacher

  and you'd be spot on. The only reason I initially drunk it was because loads of my family bought me bottler as an ironic present when I got a place on the teaching practice. Since then i've just stuck with it.

 Well played, the best affordable blend for me and I prefer it to a few single malts depending on my mood. You should be able to pick up a litre of Teachers or Grants for £16.50 at Asda at the mo. Both are allot better than the likes of Famous Grouse

I've been looking out for this 1, but it's hard to find here, I've only found it online and the price is creeping up to single malt territory. I'm sure it's a lot more peated than Teachers.

Well ya they're polar opposites almost, Speyside vs. Islay. Strange that it's expensive, it's like 20$ a bottle here which ain't **** for a whiskey of that quality. Maybe they think you guys know better over there?

On further research, Teachers is largely made from Ardmore, a highland whisky but a peated one, that explains me thinking it was a islay

I can pick up black bottle for GBP£15 online but shipping is £5, Teachers is around £12 and but I can pick up Jura/Aberlour/Glenmorangie/Ledaig/Old putney for 18-20 when offer.
