ortiz is a brute and attacks with abandon- the perfect fighter floyd likes to fight. floyd is the best counterpuncher in the game. you think ortiz is the first guy to think- i ll bumrush this kid??? EVERY fighter floyd has fought has that strategy- and guess what- it hasnt worked. -
ortiz has power- but power dosent mean anything without speed- against floyd
    - he telegraphs his jab by juking it before he throws it- as ricky did with his hook. its telegraphing signs like this that floyd looks for when he takes a fight. -
ortiz is also predictable throwing typical alternating combos- not doubling up on the same side enough to catch floyd.

i dont know where people got in their minds ortiz is a great boxer- he isnt. he out slugged and outwilled berto- people are just looking at highlights to judge this bout- oh floyd got hit by shane- EVERY guy gets hit- so what. most people dont know **** about boxing - here it is:
he hits hard- but his shots were wide and lunging- floyd counters his hooks with uppercuts from the rear foot all day-
hooks over his jab while stepping outside and around to floyds left.
before ortiz throws- he does his lead right- and left elbow to the face and tie up combo, or throws the hook.
when they clinch floyd throws the uppercut to the gut- breaks the clinch and gets some in there.

at the end of hte day ortiz has heart- and will and a big body- but floyd is smarter and more skilled. thats what wins.

as i ve said before- the way to beat floyd- and what snr admitted himself - is to have a taller , patient, prefereabbly southpaw, who can stay on the outside, sit and dictate pace against floyd- with the temperment to box and stink it out with him. the longer reach and jab is crucial. the guys who wouldve fit the bill are cory spinks, winky, and paul williams- shot and not elite fighters , sure- but styles make fights- and floyd was always wary of these guys for a reason.

manny had a chance- but i think he needed his optimum speed - 2009 manny- against coto manny- to outbox and beat the taller , craftier floyd.

i want ortiz to do well- he s a great guy- but styles make fights- and i dont want to see floyd get all the credit in the world for beating a guy he was supposed to beat- a guy that people know he will beat- because there is a community of people suddenly hyping up ortiz- making him greater than he is. this guy is 24- and had one big fight- and never been on a real ppv. he s not a champ- he inherited the belt. people are saying hes better than hatton!?!? people over hype or underhype way too much here.

ortiz rd 9 stoppage. floyd will come in aggresive and get caught early. floyd wont be able to hurt ortiz. too much pressure from ortiz, stoppage. if floyd wins, all the credit to him. biggest win since perhaps baldomir.

I just look at jone vs tarver 2. Jones basicaly undefeated at the time, thought he was untouchable and tarver was hungry just like ortiz. Tarver had some tough loses before hand too.

Nobody stays on top for ever. There always young blood coming up

I just feel that Ortiz doesnt have coordination to deal with Floyd. The Peter fight gives me doubts. Plus I don't think Victor is a very big puncher. However if Floyds legs are no longer good and his work rate is low, then I could possibly see Victor outworking him.

    difference between tarver and ortiz?
exactly what i was saying- tarver was a patient long southpaw. ortiz is a slugger with a heart of gold who dosent protect his chin when he throws his second and third punch.

long patient jabbers give slick boxers the shits- think hearns - sugar ray, tarver jones, etc.

anyway- it ll be a good fight i hope.
