Mormeck is clearly a better fighter than Valuev..... and Haye's victory was more convincing too.

Getting up off the canvas and stopping your man is more impressive than stealing a decision with evasive tactics (albeit necessary ones) - plus I can't really rate that particular victory very highly when a 46 year old man did basically the same thing a year earlier.

If he'd managed to blow Ruiz out early instead of getting sloppy that win would figure highly too, even so, Tua aside he was the only man to get rid.

Harrison wouldn't be in his top 15 wins, beating Tony Booth on debut is just as impressive in my book as blowing out that clown.

I agree he was overrated, I think Steve Cunningham could have beat Haye if he was given the chance

He is a very very good fighter, however most people seem to think he's a "joke" so no i'd say he's not overrated

No he wouldn’t. If Adamek, who was no puncher at CW, can put Cunningham on his arse, then Haye is going to flatten him.

Anyway, Haye had moved up and would have had the IBF too if they hadn’t stripped Mormeck for rematching Bell.

a few of the knockdowns are decent punches, he still lasted the 12 rounds, adamek looked good in that fight

Yeah, it was a great fight. Cunningham boxed well but kept walking onto Adamek's shots. Adamek's not as fast, precise or powerful as Haye was at 200lbs. That’s pretty much the whole story there – Haye will land, probably earlier than Adamek did, and do more damage. If Cunningham can’t beat Adamek, he won’t beat Haye.

He wasn't busy enough against Wlad but he showed class in that fight as well.

    Overall a good, good fighter.

Massiely overrated - even at Crusierweight.

He was a run of the mill Cruiserweight Champion - had 2 world title fights at the weight.

His legacy at Cruiserweight in World terms - is next to nothing.

At heavyweight - in world terms - its next to nothing.

I agree with Beeston - in British terms - he will be regarded as a good achiever.

But on World level terms - he will be remebered as a come and go - loud mouth - who breifly held a couple of world titles.

Likes of Naseem Hamed and Nigel Benn will be held in much higher regard looking back at boxing history.

Adamek basically plays into all the things Haye like to do. He’s a bit plodding, hasn’t got fast hands to trade with Haye, and isn’t the sturdiest at HW. He’s got a good jab though, so would probably be able to offset Haye for a while using it.

I expect that he’d be getting hit by that right hand pretty early though, so while he’d have him moments, the speed difference would tell pretty soon. Whenever he opts to trade or pressure Haye he’ll get hit by sharp punches in between.

I see a Haye TKO around the sixth.

Haye has legit power in both hands which made him capable of beating anybody at cruiserweight. he would have been a tough fight for any fighters around 200lbs in history.

a top 10 cruiswerweight of all time no doubt.

he looks good knocking people out, but who were they?

He went life and death with Fragomeni and only stopped him with illegal punches

He never beat steve cunningham, even if as DF Taylor pointed out Adamek beat him, he was still a top contender and we all know A beats B, A beats C scenario doesnt always work out.

He couldnt get a shell of a man in ruiz out of there after having him on ***** street in 1

He ko'd macca - what decent fighter didnt?

I would have rated him a lot higher if he had of gone for it in the Wlad match, taken a chance, gone out on his shield and not complained of a sore toe in a world heavyweight title fight

so was john ruiz. plodding, straight on, and Adamek is more durable than him.

Haye would hate the pressure, as he likes to fight in bursts

    he had bad balance

    a dodgy chin

    no controlling jab

    terrible stamina

he looks great as a fighter, his highlight reel ko's are amongst the most impressive there are but as well as having attributes that bring him up, he undoubtedly has ones that bring him down
