It's true boy. According to Azteca Golpe Media on a mexican boxing hall count, he retires above Fernando Montiel, who is a shoo-in in the hall. :smoke

when people retire of more so when they are dead its then when people hold them in higher regard than they did when they were active or alive

ask anyone who they would rather have a meeting with, paul mcartney of john lennon? they would pick john, simply cos he is dead

its the same with boxers, people look back on the past with rose tinted glasses on and imo boxers nowadays are superior to fighters of the past.

with most other sports this is easy to see because they have specific records like fastest lap or heaviest weight etc... in boxing its a win lose situation and nobody will ever know whether pac could beat duran or tyson could beat ali. we can only speculate but what is certain from looking at almost all other sports is that we as humans are getting better/faster/stronger

Based on beating Baldimor and Hatton? Ok.

Right, lets inject a few names for you people to look up.

    Harry Greb
    SRR
    Henry Armstrong
    Ezzard Charles
    Roberto Duran
    Sam Langford
    Archie Moore
    Bob Fitzsimmons
    Willie Pep
    Barney Ross
    Joe Loius
    Tony Canzoneri
    Benny Leonard
    Joe Gans
    Gene Tunney
    SRL
    Tommy Hearns
    Marvin Hagler
    Sweet Pea
    Monzon
    Charley Burley
    Ted Kid Lewis

ALL of these people should be rated above Mayweather who was a very good 130 lb'er, but has a shocking, shocking resume between 140-147

I'm implying there are drugs rife throughout the whole of sport in general not just boxing.

Performance enhancers have improved dramatically since the days of Sugar ray robinson, or Ali generation even Sugar Ray Leonard's era, there are designer drugs out there right now that are undetectable. :-(
