no you seem to be missing my point, go back and read my posts slowly. im not denying hooking the legs stops slams im saying against someone like vitali he will still be able to lift you up off the floor maybe not to a power bomb position but lift you up a foot or so he has long ****ing legs and drop (slam) you back down, thats gonna be 300+ lbs coming down on you, another problem is hooking the leg will make it harder to fully execute the triangle and get the tap, and i dont think a 6'7 super athlete will have that bad a problem trying to break your grip, now you can prove me wrong and claim how great you are at BJJ but if so just post some vids to back it up
You don't have to be great at BJJ to get it to work. Hooking the leg also gives you the angle on the triangle making it easier to finish. Breaking the grip you have to do by just posturing, which I have never seen done. Stop bullshitting like you know and go and train.
NO HE WONT! and if by some physiological miracle he got you more than a foot off the floor while your sliding out and hooking his leg hed most likely realise that he still cant stand properly, cant breathe and would sloop back to the floor frantically flailing for a few seconds before pounding the mat in panicked submission ala this dead simple triangle from royce. Hooking the leg helps get the triangle, being at an angle as if your looking in there ear makes it tighter!
if your off the mat and get dropped back down its still classed a slam albeit a weaker one, is it not? and because one of the greatest of all time can execute something does not mean you are going to do it to someone you have never even seen grapple or seen in real life no doubt but will it allow you to pull on the head which is what you might have to do to complete the choke on someone of that stature
Hooking the leg gives you a better angle to complete the choke. You only need one hand to pull on the head. Hooking the leg is more important as it prevents them from slamming you, prevents them from turning toward the trapped arm (in order to stack and escape the choke). Seriously man, you're arguing a dud right here, you've got a couple of blue/purple belts telling you what's what in the triangle business and you insist on arguing with them
Its a blood choke you do not have to pull on the head to finish with both hands or even at all especially if you have the angle. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsNtpxKVn5M[/ame]
had i of google searched then i wouldnt of put forward my argument for so long as i might of realised i was wrong, ill admit i was wrong you and 196 was right fair play so strikeforce was good eh
As a boy boxer, me and my friends would always pick fights with submission ***s. They would bend over to spear us and grab us and we would just straighten them up with an uppercut or punch the **** out of their kidneys.
I'd be tappin the Star Spangled Banner as I got stuck in a keylock and he took home my shoulder to hang on his wall......hehehehehehe
45 seconds was a bit exaggerated but the point remains. Although I do have grappling experience, he is just too damn big and too much of an athlete to wear down and eventually submit in my scenario. I would end up spending most if not all my energy dealing with the mass and power Vitali would bring.
