they forced me to say............come on bj

  3. He sounds scared. Not a good fight stylistically for BJ and I think he knows it. He's a ****ing hypocrite, he's gone out of his way to make most of his fights "personal", and pump them up on "bs".

I'm laughing at the thought Diaz isn't a good stylistic match up for BJ. Its an amazing one.

BJ has great boxing, and we don't even have to get into BJJ skills. He wrestling was good enough for him to take down Fitch in their fight. BJ has every advantage over Diaz save for cardio, which shouldn't be any issue because this is going to be a three round fight.

  6. Standup is Diaz because of his relentless pace and reach, on the ground Bj might have a small advantage, cardio is Diaz, heart is Diaz, and Diaz is also the bigger fighter. How many fights has BJ lost because of cardio?

Wierd comments from BJ. I figure he's a lock to beat Diaz but he does sound like he has some doubts. Why the hell wouldn't he want to say "I'm going to beat Nick Diaz." What the hell else was he supposed to do in the ring?

  9. You guys really think BJ takes this easily? Neither will try to take it to the ground. BJ has a great jab, but Edgar showed he can be picked apart. I don't see BJ knocking Nick out, so I think NIck's swarming style will give him fits. Especially as this gets into the second and third round. I see BJ gassing and Nick pouncing. Either a late stoppage, or 29-28 decision for Diaz, IMO. I didn't think forums were all about everyone agreeing?

  10. You really do have a lot of time on your hands. I explained myself. NO one else really has. It's not like my posts were empty.

Also, most of the posters on this board would be banned from Sherdog. That site isn't very tolerant of anything. Including, but not limited to, using profanity.

    STFU White Belt

You cant really use the Edgar fight as a comparison imo .Diaz's reach is a problem but not impenetrable as the smaller KJ had decent success getting inside. But BJ is a much more durable and powerful counter puncher than Noons and the difficulties BJ had countering Frankie will not apply to Diaz as Edgar is a nimble boxer and Nick is a stationary swarmer begging to be countered with his pawing jab and chin out style.

I dont see Nick's stand up being that much different from Diego's. Although I will concede that Diaz has GREAT heart and it could get interesting in the later rounds as I dont see Penn stopping him, and BJ's cardio could become an issue as Nick will certainly make him work. But it should aslo be noted that BJ's cardio problems have come from grappling with bigger fighters such as Hughes, Penn and GSP. I dont think Nick will initiate a grappling match at all

  12. Yeah, Nick isn't the nimblest, but he does know how to cut off the ring. He spars with professional boxers on the regular. Neither will be worried about the takedown, and Diaz's chin is pretty damn tough. Even when he gets hurt he usually recovers quickly. If BJ can't get to him early, I think he'll gas, and Diaz will just follow him around beating on him. Don't get me wrong, I don't see Diaz knocking BJ out, his chin is granite, but I could see an accumulation of punishment making him crumble, and depending on the ref, a possible stoppage. The only way I see BJ winning is by decision, and going three rounds really isn't in his best interest. Both are world class BJJ practitioners, no one is getting submitted unless they get knocked senseless.

  13. Also Nick handled Noons pretty convincingly in the rematch, and Semtex, even though he almost decapitated Nick, couldn't put him down with one shot. BJ is not as good a boxer as Noons, and not nearly as powerful as Semtex. He's got a great jab, maybe the best in MMA, but that can be neutralized by a much bigger, longer fighter.

BJ is a much better MMA boxer than Noons is...and is better technically than Daley. However I agree that the height/reach and cardio and Diaz may prove an issue.

However Penn is a MUCH better wrestler than Diaz. If Penn is willing to wrestle Diaz for three rounds Diaz hasn't got a hope in hell.

I think BJ is a much more effective striker and a better boxer than Noons. KJ constantly made Diaz miss with that jab, I dont think Nick even landed half of the jabs he threw, and he threw a damn lot of them due to KJ's head movement. But his biggest undoing, and indeed Daley's came when the decided to drop their hands and throw looping, sloppy hooks against a guy with that much of a reach advantage.

BJ's bread and butter is movement off the jab and throwing hard straight counter rights in the pocket. He does a much better job of slipping a punch and countering too and he doesnt throw hooks like Chuck Liddel after a case of Whiskey like KJ did in the later rounds, they are crisp sharp and above all accurate. And when you miss as many shots as Diaz does without protecting your chin, that spell's trouble against's a guy like Penn
