The answer is, Black fighters are held to a different standard then other fighters. We saw it with Roy Jones Jr, Tommy Hearns, Sugar Ray Leonard ect.


A non-black fighters gets praised for doing ordinary things. A Black fighter gets denigrated for doing extraordinary things.



If you took a Mexican or White fighter and gave them Floyds resume, they'd be considered unanimous top 20 fighter of all-time. But because Floyd is Floyd he is hated on.

This was a great thread. I agree with TS. People want to bash Floyd and claim he's overrated and never beat anybody, but yet they claim he's too good for his opponents and a cherry picker. How can he be to good for Ortiz and cherrypicking him if he's and overrated fighter who's only beat old, shot, fighters, Wouldn't this make Mayweather unproven.
