thats a stupid response...hating someone(Vitali) because of how another person(fans) acts causes this poster to hate the fighter... The end results of Vitali's decision to quit fighting with a possible career ending injury speak for itself these days..he's the best heavyweight in the world... where is Chris Byrd..who is the winner of the fight.... dont get me wrong I respect Byrd....

    never heard this interview before.

I am inclined to take Vitali at his word here that the injury occured during the second.

This fight had no loser IMO.

Vitali was one handedly conrolling the first half of the fight. Without the injury maybe he'd have faired better, we'll never know but I can give him the benefit of the doubt.

Byrd fought with exceptional bravery and was walking Vitali down, he couldn't have known that Vitali was injured and he was in his face all night long making him miss (probably causing the injury due to how long Vitali's arms were and how powerful he used to punch back then).

I do believe in a rematch an injury free vitali beats Byrd, but that takes nothing away from how great Byrd was that night against a man he had no right fighting.

Maybe it's that Byrd was sussing Vitali out early doors and would have come on strong anyways, who knows.

Good interview though and I still firmly believe Byrd would have won every second of the remainder rounds hence earning a close decision. Vitali himself says he couldn't see through the pain which is probably why the last round was so one sided.

You are wrong because Vitali was injured and he did the wise thing and pulled out to avoid possibly causing lasting damage. Only ******s fail to realise this, but you're perfectly happy in your moronic state.

The fight had a loser. Vitali was the loser. Does that make him an inferior fighter to Byrd? No. Would Vitali beat Byrd 49 times out of 50? Yes. Do I blame or condemn Vitali for pulling out? No. Should other people ridicule him? Only trolls and ******s do.

    But Vitali lost.

A dislocated shoulder is a lot less severe of an injury. Its like saying "so in so fought with a sprained wrist, so the other so in so should have been able to fight with a broken wrist."

I believe Vitali quit because he wanted Wladimir to have the WBO title and he knew Wlad would beat Byrd easy..........
