3 days left and Mayweather-Ortiz has no hype at all

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by BumOfTheMonth, Sep 14, 2011.

  1. This fight is not even exciting right now. Dont know why..Even though Ortiz can make it exciting.
I absolutely admire to see Mayweather perform everytime even if he fights once a year but this time Im not even close as excited as I was for Marquez or Mosley.

The 24/7s sucked donkey balls. Worst series I have ever seen.

I expect the PPV buys to be lower as usual for a Mayweather fight even though there is mexican holiday weekend or whatever it is.

Very low hype-level for this fight. Maybe Floyd was too quiet. But still the 24/7s play a big role in promoting and they miserably failed this time.

I don't know man. There was little hype about Floyd vs JMM and it did 1.05

there was also little hype about Pac vs Margarito and it did 1.15

So this might do big regardless.

I did predict initially 900K, then when they added Morales and Canelo to the card I figured probably a lot more.

They were talking about this fight on sports talk radio here today and they never talk boxing. People are talking and looking forward to this fight much to your dismay.

There's hype. It may not be a sellout but MGM is sold out for the weekend and the PPV projections are 1MM+ so i don't know what youre going on about

The exposure this fight is getting is unbelievable. With all the talk of it on ESPN, CNN, TNT, TBS and the fact that LOTS of people are still talking about the 24/7 argument, there is no way in hell this card wont do well. (To make no mention of the Mexican fans who will SURELY turn out in droves for this.)

This will do about 1.15-1.25 million.

They ran several spots during NFL games. This fight will do well over a million buys. Anybody doubts that we can have an avatar bet right now.
