He isn't the most polished fighter, but I didn't know he is this sloppy and clumsy. Having a bit of speed and explosiveness makes everyone look better.
I think he ends up looking sloppy as he doesn't pick his punches better I still think he trys to impress too much and should just concentrate on landing and not throw loads to land some.
He just isn't that accurate. Most fast fighters seem far more precise than they actually are, and Khan fits that. He's very fast but doesn't have the connect ratio he should have. He tends to throw to many flashy combinations too. I don't really rate Khan technically. He's not as skilled as people make out and is still a bit too much of an amateur.
Who's gonna beat him..........NO ****ing body. So **** stats, in the end their only a decent measure for who won a heavily contested contest.:deal
Iv always said he's clumsy. He just flurries. Anyone who thinks this guy is on mayweathers level is crazy
That connect ratio is pretty low , but when your fighting on the back foot , defending 3 - 4 - 5 punch combinations from a fighter with fast powerful hands and a great engine its a) dis heartening and b) physically taxing on yourself as an opponent Hence , some fighters find it hard to live with , just like Judah did Amir looked very very sloppy against McCloskey , but then came out and dazzled against Judah in a career best performance , at the moment he has his critics , and i did lay into him over the McCloskey fight , but then he erased all that against Zab In summary , he's not a precise puncher , he's a very fit and strong pressure fighter , who is very mobile and agile , its hard to out work him but not impossible to hit him , he's not your stereo typical walk forward apply pressure fighter (Hatton , Maidana , Rios etc) he's in out fighter who stays busy , there's a difference
Counterfeit made in UK version of Pacquiao with a jab and more focus on the body to make up for the things Pacquiao has that Khan doesnt?
I don't see many people praising Khan on a technical level, to be honest. I think people were doing it a bit before the Maidana match and overrating his boxing skill, but after that fight that sort of faded away when people saw him getting hammered in the latter part of the fight. Dealing with Khan is mainly difficult due to his speed, his combinations and his long jab. Even if he doesn't always land the jab, it keeps people occupied, and even when you don't land combinations, you can steal rounds on activity. This is why 'boxer' types seem to have more trouble with him -- they stand on the outside and lose out in regard to speed and activity, even though they make him miss. The best way to deal with him is a pressure fighter with power...which is why the Maidana match surprised me so much. I didn't expect Khan to make it through that, to be honest. I'm impressed that he was able to overcome a style that seemed to be such a bad fit for him. The fight served to highlight his problems, though -- he was a complete sucker for that overhand right, and he was just eating uppercut after uppercut on the inside. It would be nice to see him concentrate on defence. I think Roach is already trying to deal with his lack of infighting ability -- notice that Khan KO'd Judah with a body shot while they were in clinching distance. Regardless of the silly controversy surrounding that match, it surprised me to see Khan dealing damage on the inside like that. (The body punches he used against Maidana in the first round were also great, but in that case he leapt into them from the outside -- with Judah he was grappling up close, created space for himself with his other arm, and then let the shot go.)
There are alot of feints in there too. Besides who cares? He gets the job done, box office loves him, the fans love him and he is getting more and more respect by the day.
His technique looks quite poor at times, his accuracy is below average, he still fights like an ametuer and his power isnt huge, oh and he has NO inside game whatsoever. None. That said amazingly i think hes still a good fighter
Good analysis. Khan has blinding speed, but he does not harness it anywhere near as effectively as he should. He's also not "explosive." Pacman is explosive. Mike Tyson was explosive. Khan, however, is merely exceedingly fast.
Bull****. Berto is just as fast and, unlike Khan, actually possesses something of an inside game. Berto vs Khan is a "pick 'em" fight, in my opinion. Mayweather and Pacman, incidentally, would beat the living **** out of him.
Khan is a brutal ko waiting to happen. it's just a matter of time. the guy has great speed and decent power but with awful technique.
